Since there’s a lot of new people trying out Mastodon, something to be cautious about: your DMs can be read by admins of your instance and the instance of the recipient, and when your toots cross an instance boundary, it’s possible for your private toots to get boosted. Some of the privacy guards in place on platforms you’ve used before don’t work the same here.
Added a preview window! You'll get a rough idea of what is being displayed through the viewport of the GIF recorder.
Later when you can specifiy the render Rect this'll be useful for getting the composition you want :)
I initially thought I'd do something "quick" "with colour". 😂
Fifteen minutes in and I only had the background colour done, so I gave in and spent over an hour on it.
Amazing #GodotEngine 4.0 (alpha 6) demo of a forest scene by Wojtek Pe!
The devlog has lots of technical details on how it's built, well worth a watch.
It doesn't look like much, but this is a custom sky shader running in the OpenGL3 backend in Godot 4.0. It won't be long before we have 3D objects in the scene too :)
Trying to explain why gamedevs love IMGUI to app devs:
"You see, games have to focus on performance above all else. Minimizing draw calls, laying memory out in cache friendly data structures, manually managing memory. But we also keep forgetting to implement the pause menu until the day before shipping..."

For my Final Fantasy 8 "clone", I've made some changes, so now I can:
- load in terrain/level scenes into the main scene
- switch between the loaded scenes to set one as "active"
- actually use git
- actually use kanban
- keep track of my dodos
- keep track of anywhere errors can happen
So now I have a basis for adding actual stuff to!
Here's a full screenshot of #behindthescenes for your pleasure.
