It's been more than 6 years since I last made a #Launchpad cover of some kind, so I started making one for a song I listened to today, pretty happy on what I did so far, it's not finished at all but still, feels good to do something new sometimes!

Whistling Treason live rig looking nice and colourful. 2 launchpads controlling Ableton, midi mixer, DS01 Dubsiren, UA Dream65 pedal, digital mixer, and a Wasaphone mic. Really love the Wasaphone at the moment for its vintage distorted vocal vibes.

who was gonna tell me when you've got a problem in #Ableton #AbletonLive with a time signature/bpm conflict.. it is easier to put it in 2/2 than to try to sus it out in other ways?
i thought i had something in 6/4, but the grid never did match up when i was trying to transcribe it.
set Ableton to 2/2 and 1/32 grid and solved.. a lot.

Just got my new IPad m3 13 inch.
I really love that they make IPads this big nowadays, because my hands can cramp up very easyly on smaller screens.
Anyway, now I'm gonna have some fun with it, since I installed #ableton note and #logic pro on it.

Irgendwie war es entweder die zweite Hälfte der Bundeswehrzeit oder schon nach dem Bund. Und man war irgendwie nur dabei, die Sau rauszulassen. Ich rede von Nummern wie „9 PM (Till I Come)“ von ATB, „Meet Her At The Love Parade“ von Da Hool, „Flaming June“ von BT oder „Hold That Sucker Down“ vom O.T. Quartet. Das war eine Zeit, die niemals zurückkommen wird. Außer man macht als Musiker so etwas.

First I collected some ideas for text based sequencing in order to fill in the ability realm of #Ableton Live. I’ve took some essential hints from Atari #Notator which are part of Apple’s #Logic now.
I think I was guided by Millward’s #Soundsynthesis with VST instruments. Mixed it up with R #soundanalysis by Jerome Sueur and produced a first glimpse into sound synthesis at

Now I’m figuring out how to funnel midi output of #lilypond composition driven by #SQLite repositories into #chuck processing lines.
My integrated development environment IDE is #orgmode -> #emacs -> Debian. Also experienced Ubuntu and endeavorOS, but definitely 100% gnu Linux. Well I maintain a service line to #PureData.

#ableton and pretty much any other #daw i've tried lets you group tracks, and collapse them. fair enough.
no daw i've seen lets you group and collapse "scenes" or any other section of time. just imagine having each track's arrangement in your setlist expandable in place, so you can easily do transitions and medleys... that's the kind of thing i'm tryna build.
the table thing ties back into into #vestal, the binary patcher for old soundwares (https://codeberg.org/unspeaker/vestal - that one isn't passing its ci yet, baaad code, baaaaaad developer!)
that could sure use some interactivity, at least in development. would keep me focused.
it also ties back into #tek, whose entire thing is reimplementing #ableton's "#excel for music" schtick in a terminal, so, again, tables!
or, more properly, collapsible table-trees... not a new idea, more like a lost technology!
