Linux Is Best
The original question was:

"Would you rather be in the woods and encounter a bear or a man?"

I have seen a lot of people forget the word, "encounter" meaning, when used as a noun, "A meeting, especially one that is unplanned, unexpected, or brief", or when uses as a verb, "To meet, especially unexpectedly; come upon" as defined by, The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language. In other words, you're NOT avoiding the bear. You're going to stubble upon the bear and encounter, said bear, or the random person (man).

Now, which would I be more fearful of? A bear that I am not going to avoid, I am going to encounter, and do not know how it will act or what state of mind the bear is in, or the random hiker, which I have experienced encountering numinous times without incident.

Yes, there is always the risk of the unknown, whether it be the bear or the random. But the random knows we have a justice system and knows it is still possible you could be heard, and mostly is as cautious about you as you are them. But the bear, all it knows is if it is hungry or not, scared or not, angry or not, feeling territorial or not, and your actions are not likely to change its mind. Animals are going to be wild animals no matter the circumstance.

That said, I digress, and point out how many ways people have tried to change the original question to fit their narrative.

#Bear #Man #BearMan #Hike #Forest #TikTok
