deafhobbit<p>i really wish there was a better way to get art from bsky into my rss feed.</p><p>- bsky accounts all have rss feeds, but they suck in a lot of ways. most notably for this use case, they don't include embedded media.</p><p>- there are a lot of sites that generate better rss feeds for bsky, which do include embedded media, but then you're left with the full torrent of replies/reposts/etc you'd expect from an artist trying to build an audience on bsky.</p><p>- so, i'd like to filter those feeds to only include posts with media, but none of the bsky rss feed generators i'm aware of support that.</p><p>- another option would be to take the full feed into my RSS client, but have rules to automatically mark Read posts without media.. that seems like it should be doable, but i haven't been able to get it working in feedbin.</p><p>- on bsky itself, i could build a filtered List of just original posts with media from selected artists. but Lists don't have RSS feeds, and none of the RSS-ifiers i'm aware of can generate RSS feeds for them.</p><p><a href="https://social.treehouse.systems/tags/bsky" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>bsky</span></a> <a href="https://social.treehouse.systems/tags/rss" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rss</span></a> <a href="https://social.treehouse.systems/tags/feedbin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>feedbin</span></a></p>

Jimmy B. :tailscale:<p>After spending about 6-8 hours last week trying to get <a href="https://selfhosted.cafe/tags/Refeed" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Refeed</span></a> working, I tried out <a href="https://selfhosted.cafe/tags/Fusion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Fusion</span></a> which was alright but a little too simple. I then spent a couple hours on getting <a href="https://selfhosted.cafe/tags/Feedbin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Feedbin</span></a> working and I was successful!</p><p>I've been using it since then for my <a href="https://selfhosted.cafe/tags/RSS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RSS</span></a> needs and it's been great! It works well on my desktop/laptop and my <a href="https://selfhosted.cafe/tags/iPad" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>iPad</span></a>. Nyla Smokeyface :heart_ace:<p>I relapsed... I got back into <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/RSS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RSS</span></a> and spent several hours over my break going through unread feeds, unstarring articles in <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Feedbin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Feedbin</span></a>, and decluttering my feeds by unsubscribing to some I don't read</p><p>I can't help but feel like I wasted time doing that but I also feel like digitally decluttering is productive. After all, I apparently have 100,000 starred articles in <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Feedbin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Feedbin</span></a> :blobcatsweat: I think a lot of that was filters that cast too wide of a net that built up especially after I took a long break from RSS. </p><p>It also probably came from starring things that could easily have simply been bookmarked instead. I found out yesterday that I could unstar articles through the API. Maybe I can write a program to help mass unstar articles since neither Feedbin nor <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Reeder" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Reeder</span></a> (classic) have multi select.</p><p>This was more of a ramble but if anyone has tips on helping me wrangle my RSS feeds and saved/read-later articles I would love to hear them!</p><p><a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/DigitalDecluttering" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DigitalDecluttering</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Productivity" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Productivity</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/ReadLater" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ReadLater</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/ADHD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ADHD</span></a></p>
