AndyCalling the diorama finished. I just need to leave it alone now. Don't mess with it, think of new things to add to it, add more drybrushing to the waves. And definitely. No. Seagulls.This is going into the island Open Exhibition. I never thought of myself as an artist before, and it'll be sat alongside photographers, knitters, painters, and the like. Which is weird. AndySo it did seep a little, and the resin made contact with the foam on the side and bottom edges, which I didn't seal in the same way as the sand.Seal everything with PVA. Then seal it some more. ALL THE SEALING! The exothermic reaction must have got really hot, as it's melted the XPS foam in places where the heat got to it.So today will be filling holes, finishing the shieldmaiden, and maybe the cliff. AndyWe're looking okay this morning. The left side of the dio has bulged a bit and the resin seeped down the side (where land would be) but I can sand that back. A few bubbles (as per pic, the extra-shiny bits) on the seaweed but I'm pretty pleased overall. Isaac LeFeverHadn't pained a model in about a year so this was fun. The oil wash I tried went pretty sideways on me, so she's not as spruce as I was hoping for, but definitely looks better than this crappy cellphone pic is leading onto.Fun project to turn a couple fish tins into a boat. I think I'll probably have another go at it before too long.
