Having had a short walk with my friend, I'm settling in for the night. With a pair of real rarities.

First up, I'm watching Burst City (1982), directed by Gakuryū Ishii. It's real authentic Japanese cyberpunk you guys!

After that, it's Candy (2006), directed by Neil Armfield, starring Heath Ledger, Abbie Cornish and Geoffrey Rush. It's an Australian love story but it's set in poverty.

I just got back from my friend's where we watched Glass Onion (2022), directed by Rian Johnson, starring Daniel Craig, Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson, and Dave Bautista. It was OK, but I wanted to be able to throw popcorn at it, it was so melodramatic. But we streamed it.

Now that I'm settled, I'm starting The Serpent's Kiss (1997), directed by Philippe Rousselot, starring Ewan McGregor, Pete Postlethwaite, Greta Scacchi, and Richard E. Grant. It's a romantic drama, you guys. I don't think it was widely seen.

I didn't want to add much to transport back home since I already am going to bring home a bunch of DVDs and VHS in a checked bag, so when my beloved stepmom and I went thrifting for black #goth ish clothing to wear to an Edgar Allen Poe cocktail night I limited myself just to a few really cheap things (each was 50 cents) that I really wanted. Pretty happy with these 2 dollars worth of pickups.

In the category of frustrating: I just listened to The Midnight's Horror Show album on Soundcloud. I like it very much.

I like to buy albums on CD though, and it was only released on LP, cassette, and digital download.

Oh well.

Maxine Nightingale *Lead Me On* US Windsong 1979

Also known as *Love Lines* in other parts of the world, though with some different songs and cover. The title track was a big hit (co-written by Allee Willis), her 2nd and final US 10 Top. Instance where a UK singer has better success in the US than in her native land, with the doo-wop flavored "Right Back Where We Started From" being the only Top 10 in both US and UK.

Today I drove an hour to my favorite record/media store and traded in some LPs and a PS2 slim with games. Came home with 23 CDs and 2 Blu-rays. I'm currently ripping the CDs to FLAC and cataloging them on Discogs. I don't know why this all makes me happy, but it does.
