Reverend Elvis<p>DeepSeek - the long march reloaded<br>I must admit, anything that counters, parades and ridicules Western (from China, Eastern) arrogance appeals to me. I know, I know, the Chinese eat dogs and beat their wives ... or was that the Muslim? Well, whatever. Righteous indignation all round. It was always just racism and chauvinism.</p><p>All the more impressive how things are developing. As we know, a Chinese company has published an AI language model that is in no way inferior to commercial Western AIs. That might be a respectable success, but it's hardly worth mentioning. The really impressive thing about it is that it is completely open source. FOSS. Unbelievable.</p><p>This means that it is no longer Chinese AI, but world AI. Open Source &amp; FOSS has an enormous synergy spiral. Anyone who has observed the scene over the last few decades knows this. If there is a fully-fledged AI for everyone, it means that all universities, all companies, all countries and even private individuals (I can run DeepSeek on my gaming computer) can use it.</p><p>An incredible process, I am amazed, delighted, excited. And what a political success for China. Reverend Elvis<p>DeepSeek – der lange Marsch reloaded<br>Ich muss zugeben, alles, was der westlichen (von China aus östlichen) Überheblichkeit entgegensteht, sie vorführt und lächerlich macht, gefällt mir. Ich weiß, ich weiß, die Chinesen essen Hunde und schlagen ihre Frau .. oder war das der Moslem? Na ja wie auch immer. Gerechte Empörung aller Orten. Es war immer nur Rassismus und Chauvinismus.</p><p>Um so beeindruckender, wie sich die Dinge entwickeln. Eine chinesische Firma hat, wie bekannt, ein KI-Sprachmodel veröffentlicht, was den kommerziellen westlichen KIs in nichts nachsteht. Das wäre vielleicht ein Achtungserfolg, kaum der Rede wert. Das wirklich Beeindruckende daran ist, es ist vollständig Open Source. FOSS. Unglaublich.</p><p>Das heißt, es ist jetzt schon keine chinesische KI mehr, sondern eine Welt KI. Open Source &amp; FOSS hat eine enorme Synergie-Spirale. Jeder der die Szene die letzten Jahrzehnte beobachtet hat, weiß das. Wenn es eine vollwertige KI für alle gibt, heißt das alle Universitäten, alle Firmen, alle Länder und auch private Personen (ich kann DeepSeek auf meinem Spielrechner betreiben) diese nutzen können.</p><p>Ein unglaublicher Vorgang, ich bin verblüfft, erfreut, aufgeregt. Und was für ein politischer Erfolg für China.
