🫐</p><p>Du coup j'ai mis à jour ma <a href="https://mastoot.fr/tags/recette" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>recette</span></a> : <a href="https://revolutiondanslacuisine.tangee.fr/mes-recettes-de-kombucha-maison/#myrtille" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">revolutiondanslacuisine.tangee</span><span class="invisible">.fr/mes-recettes-de-kombucha-maison/#myrtille</span></a></p>
jendefer<p>I saw the other two <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/kombucha" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>kombucha</span></a> bottles sitting on the bathroom counter as I got ready for bed and was suddenly struck with worry that they would explode overnight, so I took them into the backyard and popped them each open. The fountains that came out put champagne bottles to shame. I also lost the two pop-tops. I shall have to search among the cacti for them in the morning when it is light again.</p>
jendefer<p>Oh, wow, <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/kombucha" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>kombucha</span></a> explosion. An hour or so ago I got up to go try some of the new watermelon second ferment. I'd put a lot of puréed watermelon into the 500 mL flip lid bottle, but I did not anticipate how excited it would get. The kitchen walls and pantry door were pretty easy to wipe down. The ceiling was a bit more annoying, requiring some "magic eraser" elbow work as well. All the clean dishes in the rack above the sink had to be washed again too. &lt;phew&gt; Time to enjoy my beverage.</p>
<a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/fermentation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fermentation</span></a></p>
jendefer<p>Another <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/kombucha" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>kombucha</span></a> processing day, even though I haven't finished drinking all of the previous batch. Today's second ferments were done with the last of my rescue watermelon as well as some of the gazillion excess grapes I picked up last weekend. I haven't tried grapes before, so we'll see how they compare to the watermelon (which so far is my best second ferment material, I think).</p><p><a href="https://dice.camp/tags/fermentation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fermentation</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/FoodRescue" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FoodRescue</span></a></p>

jendefer<p>It's another chore day, which means kombucha processing (as well as dishes, laundry, and ttrpg podcast tasks). Watermelon was included in the recent rescued produce pickup, so that's the flavor for the second fermentations I set up today. Spent a bit of time with my potato masher and the wedges of watermelon.</p><p><a href="https://dice.camp/tags/kombucha" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>kombucha</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/fermentation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fermentation</span></a></p>
Gull (Thomas) 🇨🇦<p>I seem to be in the middle of a kombucha phase. I really like it, and it's good for me to sip on something that's not too sweet and not too beer.<br><a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/Kombucha" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Kombucha</span></a></p>
jendefer<p>Today was another kombucha processing day. The apple butter worked well as a second fermentation flavor last time, so this time I'm trying a bottle with pumpkin butter. The other two flavors I did last time were surprisingly even more delicious. I don't have oranges on hand anymore, but it is prime lemon season here, so I have once again done some bottles with honey, lemon zest, and lemon juice.</p><p><a href="https://dice.camp/tags/kombucha" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>kombucha</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/fermentation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fermentation</span></a></p>
ʀɛɖ 🌱<p>Considering I’m using <a href="https://mas.to/tags/BB536" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BB536</span></a> for the yoghurt, and how many people report getting better from their <a href="https://mas.to/tags/HistamineIntolerance" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HistamineIntolerance</span></a> when taking it, I’m now wondering if I’ll never feel tipsy from <a href="https://mas.to/tags/kombucha" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>kombucha</span></a> again.</p><p>Oh the loss.</p>
jendefer<p>Another <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/kombucha" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>kombucha</span></a> processing day, prepping some for its second <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/fermentation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fermentation</span></a> and getting another batch going for the first. The lemon zest with honey worked well last time, so I set one second ferment with that again. I did another with the zest and juice of an orange. For the third, I used the remnants of a jar of apple butter for the flavoring. We'll see how they all turn out this weekend.</p>

jendefer<p>Today was <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/kombucha" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>kombucha</span></a> processing day. I make my kombucha in a half-gallon pickle jar. (It was cheaper to buy and eat a giant pile of pickles than to buy a big glass.) I rebottled it into 3 half-liter mead bottles with lids that lock into place. Two of them I used berry juice for the second fermentation. The other I decided to experiment on: honey and lemon zest.</p><p><a href="https://dice.camp/tags/Reuse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Reuse</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/Repurpose" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Repurpose</span></a> <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/fermentation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fermentation</span></a></p>

jendefer<p>Finally home after weeks away. Just started some seeds soaking for <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/sprouts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>sprouts</span></a>. Set dried fruit bits in my <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/kombucha" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>kombucha</span></a> to revivify (wow that kombucha is way bubbly now!) Started waking up the <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/sourdough" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>sourdough</span></a> to make a loaf next week. And set the emergency <a href="https://dice.camp/tags/yogurt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>yogurt</span></a> (made just before we left to use up the milk) to strain so that it's nice and thick for breakfast tomorrow. So good to be back in my own kitchen!</p>
