Mike Coats 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇪🇺🌍♻️<p>Dear <a href="https://mikecoats.social/tags/lazyWeb" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>lazyWeb</span></a> &amp; <a href="https://mikecoats.social/tags/lazyFedi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>lazyFedi</span></a>,</p><p>I've built a small model in <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://fosstodon.org/@OpenSCAD" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>OpenSCAD</span></a></span> and I'm looking to get it 3D printed. Does anyone have any recommendations for 3D printing services?</p><p>I'd like it printed with a decent bit of mechanical performance. It will get wet, it will probably get oily and grimy. Part of it will be under "reasonable" compression load.</p><p>Are PCBWay or JLC any good? What about Treatstock? UK or EU preferred.</p><p>Personal experiences desired! I know how to Google/DDG.</p><p><a href="https://mikecoats.social/tags/3DPrinting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>3DPrinting</span></a> <a href="https://mikecoats.social/tags/3DPrinter" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>3DPrinter</span></a></p>
Brad L. :verified:<p>Dear <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/LazyWeb" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LazyWeb</span></a> / <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/lazyfedi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>lazyfedi</span></a>,</p><p>I'm new to <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/k8s" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>k8s</span></a> and am wondering how to handle templating large amounts of config files. I couldn't find anything super useful in my search so I have an <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/Ansible" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Ansible</span></a> sidecar I run to generate the kustomizations and config files. My most recent Ansible change was 30 lines, it resulted in changing 5,000 lines of YAML which will further be fed to Kustomize.</p><p>There has to be a better way?</p><p>I've heard about Helm, Yoke, KRO, and using an operator pattern. My understanding of those options is:</p><p>* Helm - My Org recommends avoiding (I don't know why)<br>* KRO - Not stable, but FFS neither is Kustomize<br>* Yoke - Almost kinda operator pattern<br>* Operator Pattern - This feels like reinventing a fucking config manager (ala <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/Ansible" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Ansible</span></a>, <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/Puppet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Puppet</span></a>, <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/Chef" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Chef</span></a>, <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/Saltstack" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Saltstack</span></a>) for every fucking project. What new hell this is.</p><p>I'm hoping I'm missing something because the only workable flow for this workload is:<br>1) Create ansible roles/playbook to generate the kustomization.yaml and resources<br>2) Generate those kustomizations, check them into git<br>3) Use Kustomize via GitOps to expand the YAML even more<br>4) Push a metric fuckton of YAML to production</p><p>I'm losing my mind over here.</p>

Em :official_verified:<p>Request for Recommendations 👀</p><p>FediFriends, you have been fantastic at helping me finding great end-to-end encrypted apps lately, thank you :dragon_heart: </p><p>I need another one! </p><p>This time I am looking for an app that is an alternative to Confluence's database feature. </p><p>Basically, I want an app that I can build simple spreadsheets in but with visualization options similar to what Confluence offers (especially the Card layout). Minkiu<p>I tried to set up tasker on <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/android" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>android</span></a> but I really can't be arsed, and I realised it's not open source, but looking at Easer, seems like development stalled? So <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/lazyfedi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>lazyfedi</span></a> do you know of a similar app that you'd recommend? @pndc<p><a href="https://social.treehouse.systems/tags/LazyFedi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LazyFedi</span></a> I would like to publish some git repositories, but self-hosted rather than with GitHub etc. Does anybody have any specific (anti-)recommendations?</p><p>Obviously I can just set up a gitserver and/or plonk the bare repo in some static webspace and call it a day, but a useful web interface would be nice. I'm expecting approximately bugger all traffic as the web page is mainly there for the benefit of visitors who think that if it's not on the Web it doesn't exist. <em>I</em> will be pushing to it over conventional ssh and don't expect any other committers.</p><p>Other considerations: no PHP or Node. Bonus points if there's already a Debian package. My web server is nginx in case that's relevant.</p>
