@theirongiant I _almost_ recreated the whole thing in Publisher, as I’d already worked out most of the layout for the Addendum!

That’s not entirely off the cards, but I went with the OCRed scan for now.

I still have other print material to scan, and disks to image (I believe they’re 3.0.1, not 3.0 that gets patched to 3.0.1).

My Applesauce has been out of action, a friend recently fixed it, so I’d better get onto that, although I can probably just use DiskCopy.

@theirongiant Thank you! It was a lot of work, and optimising for spot colour scans was a challenge I didn’t expect.

The network layout images with the tint behind them were recreated completely for the OCRed PDF.

I had to apply the spot colour to all coloured elements manually, as I couldn’t scan to three colour (i.e. 2-bit, so really 4 colour) with a selected palette to match the green to the new pages I created for the Addendum to a high enough standard.

25 March and it’s time for the first draw! Tonight’s winners is… @mattnews ! Congratulations 🎉

Your stylish prize is an ImageWriter-printed iron-on of the TeachText iron!

Drop me a line and we’ll get this and some stickers on their way to you :D

Dear #globaltalk #marchintosh network nerds: why would there be more than 1 hop to any given node, if we're all connecting to each others' IP addresses? And why do several zones have 3 or more hops? For Neon Plaza, that number was changing frequently. I saw as few as 5 hops, and as many as 13. "Neon Plaza" is used by the LocalTalk and EtherTalk zones, so that may explain the fluctuation. AIR turned the number RED when it got that high (I missed the screenshot). I keep thinking about ways to optimize and accelerate this for 2026 (if it's even possible). Is there value in having separate zone names for the LocalTalk bridged devices?

As we head into the tail end of #MARCHintosh, let's do a few giveaways in one!

On each of the 25, 26 and 27 March the Hat-o-matic will pick one person from the list of replies to win:

• some shiny #LiveLaughLocalTalk stickers
• a random stylish iron-on decal. Could be a dogcow, could be the ResEdit icon, could be all sorts of things... but iron it onto a shirt and it's guaranteed to make you the talk of the town
