Eibhlìn NicColla<p>Today I decided to have a little fun and built a little Ogham generator (if you don't know what Ogham is, it's kind of like Irish runes). You select how many symbols you want to generate, it tells you the symbol's name, the tree it corresponds to, and the pronunciation. Spaceways<p>A fine Pictish Symbol Stone for <a href="https://toot.community/tags/StandingStoneSunday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>StandingStoneSunday</span></a> </p><p>Nice start to our day at Brodie castle yesterday, the stone stands near the entrance. The carvings are in great condition. A cross on one side. The other side a pictish beast, two paired sea monsters and a double-disc and Z-rod.</p><p>Best though is carved along three corners - the longest Ogham inscription known in Scotland. Only between 30-40 ogham stones have been found in Scotland, these are pretty rare.
