noromamai<p>Success! Got it working with the Open Hardware CMBretro PC-Engine RGB amp. Now to tidy up the whole thing and move onto fixing jailbars. <a href="https://social.consoledated.com/tags/pcengine" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pcengine</span></a> <a href="https://social.consoledated.com/tags/retrogaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>retrogaming</span></a> <a href="https://social.consoledated.com/tags/rgbmod" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rgbmod</span></a> <a href="https://social.consoledated.com/tags/openhardware" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>openhardware</span></a></p>

Disassembled it while watching Tokyo Vice ep2. Mounted the shell and broke it. But gravity is helping out, it still works. Oh, also filled an SSD with all <a href="https://social.consoledated.com/tags/ps2" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ps2</span></a> shmups to use with @jeffchen.bsky.social's EasyPS2HDD mod.í9</p>
noromamai<p>Opened it again to see which pins of the AV out are connected. As you can see, the AV plug that goes to the N64 only takes audio and GND (no video?!). The AV port on the Tristar64 only has traces going to audio, composite and GND. Can we add RGB?</p><p><a href="https://social.consoledated.com/tags/retromodding" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>retromodding</span></a> <a href="https://social.consoledated.com/tags/rgbmod" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rgbmod</span></a></p>
noromamai<p>Yes! Testing the populated <a href="https://social.consoledated.com/tags/pcengine" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pcengine</span></a> <a href="https://social.consoledated.com/tags/rgbmod" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rgbmod</span></a> and it works. This is the 2nd one, made a mistake with the first one and it doesn't work anymore, need to spend some time figuring that out. Now i can populate the rest and use them.</p><p><a href="https://social.consoledated.com/tags/retrorevival" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>retrorevival</span></a> <a href="https://social.consoledated.com/tags/consolemodding" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>consolemodding</span></a></p>
noromamai<p>Was going to install the rgb mod board I made into this <a href="https://social.consoledated.com/tags/pcengine" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pcengine</span></a>, but then noticed it's the one that was modded for PAL-I output. Now I need to dig out the NTSC one to see what components it is missing.</p><p><a href="https://social.consoledated.com/tags/retrorevival" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>retrorevival</span></a> <a href="https://social.consoledated.com/tags/rgbmod" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rgbmod</span></a> <a href="https://social.consoledated.com/tags/retromodding" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>retromodding</span></a></p>
noromamai<p>Done! Now I know why they cost so much more than the sum of their parts :). Not as tidy as I thought I could make it though. But no one will see once it is inside a <a href="https://social.consoledated.com/tags/pcengine" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pcengine</span></a>. </p><p><a href="https://social.consoledated.com/tags/retromodding" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>retromodding</span></a> <a href="https://social.consoledated.com/tags/retrorevival" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>retrorevival</span></a> <a href="https://social.consoledated.com/tags/rgbmod" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rgbmod</span></a></p>

noromamai<p>These arrived from @PCBWayOfficial@x, most components arrived as well. Now to find the time to work on them next to all the other unfinished projects.</p><p><a href="https://social.consoledated.com/tags/pcengine" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pcengine</span></a> <a href="https://social.consoledated.com/tags/vectrex" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>vectrex</span></a> <a href="https://social.consoledated.com/tags/3do" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>3do</span></a> <a href="https://social.consoledated.com/tags/rgbmod" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rgbmod</span></a> <a href="https://social.consoledated.com/tags/retromodding" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>retromodding</span></a> <a href="https://social.consoledated.com/tags/retrorevival" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>retrorevival</span></a></p>
Stefanie | StefiStarlite<p>After a few days of research, looks like I'll be needing to do an RGB mod on this monitor I bought after all. It technically already has analog RGB via a 6-pin DIN port, but it uses separate H/V syncs, so I'll be needing to add that in addition to a SCART port. Hopefully fix the power button too.</p><p><a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/crt" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>crt</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/Magnavox" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Magnavox</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/RGBMonitor80" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RGBMonitor80</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/rgbmod" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rgbmod</span></a> <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/retrogaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>retrogaming</span></a></p>
