I too was raised on Laputa after first seeing it aged 6(ish) when it aired on UK telly.
We taped it and I drew my own box art for it (sadly lost to the sands of time).

I'm not an artist, but about a decade ago... I got a graphics tablet and one of the first things I wanted to draw was the pendant. So, I found a tutorial drawing "gemstones" + some Laputa ref images and ended up with this...
