I have a phantom URL autocomplete entry for "twitter.com" in #firefox that I just can't remove.
Following instructions here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/address-bar-autocomplete-firefox
If I uncheck everything, ""twitter.com" doesn't autocomplete, but also nothing else useful gets autocompleted either. So I try to re-check Bookmarks only. But then the "twitter.com" autocomplete comes back???? I have no bookmarks to twitter.com though. Also the entry doesn't have a three-dot button or a "Remove from history" option
@ambersz Just speculating, but it might be useful to use the bookmark manager to export all your bookmarks to HTML and then search in the resulting file to see if there's any mention of Twitter. Basically just double-checking that there isn't a bookmark you missed. (I guess you can search directly from the bookmark manager too, couldn't hurt to try both though)
Assuming you don't find it that way, then something weird is going on I'm not sure what makes sense to do next but I would at least try the method of typing a * in the address bar to restrict autocompletion to bookmarks only, and see whether it finds Twitter as well - that may help restrict the scope of what weird thing could be going on.
BTW all this assumes you're using a recent enough version of Firefox, for some definition of "recent enough" If you're on a really old version then it might take a totally different approach.
I don't know if any of this will help you, but good luck regardless...
