Yeah I think I understand how rpg maker works yes

Okay so I showed it to a couple people. A bunch of them requested me to make this into a full game. I was very bored today so I made some very high quality concept art of possible characters
This will truly be the greatest video game to ever be created

Kind of mildly disturbing?

Not a new update, but I just want to say that this game over screen always gets me when testing. I've perfected fail screens

Oh yeah I forgot to post this here, but I (will) post occasional update videos on youtube, like this one
youtu.be/US-YNm1EJzM

yeah this is how you make a sprite i think

So, in a discord server I'm in woth my friend group, I kind of half jokingly asked for a mock up design of a character for my game even though i didn't need one but I was curious what others would come up with. I asked for nothing more than just a crappy ms paint drawing but my friend Chloe absolutely overdelivered (she has no socials I can plug so name will have to do)

(talking about the rest of the thread this is a part of) oh yeah I am archiving these on the crappy little neocities page i have and update from time to time

cathacker13.neocities.orgThe Igor Archives

new title screen
yes you can walk around

okay this is the awesomest battle I have come up with so far

I dont know why im just putting a random map layout here, but sure

Showed this to a couple people and they seem to be fond of my character design ehm "skillls"
No idea what this is but it looks cool

The perfect character, now plushified

Lore accurate Igor starter outfit

I am going insane
(there hadn't been many posts actually relating to the game recently because I really don't want to spoil the part I'm currently very slowly working on. I guess things like this will have to do for the time being)

Didn't have the time to upload this earlier, but I got bored in class today and I drew some designs for a possible set of collectables, that you'd use for ... something, or maybe nothing, haven't decided yet

*has barely one act of a game mostly done* You know what this needs? A translation into a language that zero people who'll play it speak

I know what I am doing yes (I have some idea what I am doing, but no idea why)

there we go, that's more like it

writing up some relatable dialogue

I'm not promising anything, so don't get mad at me if I don't deliver, but I might release a very early demo version of Igor the Lemon somewhere within the next month. Well that's the plan anyway

the game is going to be a total mess but honestly? If you expected anything else that's kind of on you

might as well give out a little sneak peak of an area im working on while im at it

okay, i expect the game to come out somewhere in the next two weeks; not to spoil anything but it releasing during pride month is weirdly appropriate

Okay, so basically yes, yes I am adding an entire section that is going to be completely divorced from the rest of the game gameplay wise and yes it is going to be mandatory in order for you to be able to progress. And yes, yes it is survival based. Why exactly am I doing this? I thought it'd be cool and I'm currently a victim of a sunk cost fallacy. Please send help

I've decided to revisit an old concept for a conlang from a scrapped world building project of mine with intentions of somehow using it in this game. That's right, I am inventing an entire language for a shitpost game about a lemon with a big bum. What the hell am I doing with my life. I'm putting too much effort into this

After doing some self reflection, I think that my plans for the project have to be scaled down.
The classic case of feature creep has started to infect my vision severely
I need to rethink how I am going to do this without giving into those ideas, because that is a surefire way of making something terrible
