I'm genuinely astounded by the amount of people who don't know the difference between a web browser and a search engine. Like I've had to explain these two very different concepts to multiple people. I understand that most people aren't very knowledgeable about tech but come on
@cathacker Where they older than 50 or younger than 25? I have a theory.
@wildrikku Almost always younger than 25. I know about the the "there's only one tech savvy generation" theory....fact of reality but I really do have to wonder just how little the average person knows if THIS is confusing to some people
@cathacker what I noticed is that people type URLs into the search field on the "new tab" page. Admittedly, with every browser using the address bar as a search field and opening new tabs with a search field on them, too, I can understand where it comes from - even more considering one of the dominant browsers is made by the search engine company.
