@djlink I still remeber in 2008 when building Wizard101, our GfX team doing assembly language Magic and hacking DirectX directly to get our 3D MMO game to run on our little low spec machine : RIVA TNT2 Model 64, Pentium III 700 mhz, and 512 MB , how glorious was to see the game run smoothly! (And every kid to be able to play it)

@djlink my team drove all over town buying the worst laptops and desktops we could find used, because we wanted the barrier to entry for kids at home to be the lowest possible. (We did burn out some GFX cards). (Kids always had parents hand-me-down work computers then)

honestly my dream device would be a many-core CPU with very wide vector units (intel tried, RISC-V has a cleaner design still), and maybe some instructions that make texture filtering a bit easier.
