I've come up with a proposition for 2023 I actually feel motivated about: I will only read the books I've bought in the past but haven't read yet. No more buying books and then piling them up eternally. I'm surrounded by books I haven't read *yet*, but I'm going to change that.

@scopelmatt I’ve been there and root for you! My pile of unread books is pretty large as well! But even if you cannot sustain it like I did (shiny new book syndrome!!!) a personal collection of (even unread) books can still valuable!
@Erikmitk the idea of anti library is wonderful, thank you for sharing the video! I have experienced the beauty of having a lot of unread books: suddenly having an inspiration while looking at them, finding a reference in case of need, remembering the moment in which that particular book was found (I usually write the date in the front page). But I also feel that there is also a consumerist side to it: the necessity of “owning” something, even beyond my capability of actually making use of it.
@scopelmatt Absolutely. I tricked my impulsivity into buying Kindle samples to get the kick of buying something as if I owned it. And when it’s time I usually try to pick up a physical copy of the things I find interesting.
