@Pos_yo

I ordered my first thing from #AliExpress. 1 thing. It was delivered yesterday. In total, including signing up, for ordering *1 thing* I have received 25 emails.

I don't think my inbox would survive another order.

I bought a pair of hall-effect joystick replacements for the #Switch on #AliExpress for $5.37 for the pair (free shipping). I installed them in my kid's Switch, which maybe took a grand total of 30 minutes. They calibrated perfectly. According to the kid, the new joysticks are very smooth and work perfectly. Put that in the #win column.

Lilbits: Tariffs on Chinese shipments take effect, Apple opens up the App Store (a bit), and first look at Google’s Pixel Desktop mode

Now that a US District Court judge has ordered Apple to loosen its restrictions on apps that direct users to pay for goods and subscriptions using non App Store billing, a growing number of developers are starting to update their apps to let users find other ways to pay. Patreon, and Proton are among those who are already planning to do so, and Spotify’s updated app is already available.

So […]

The de minimis exemption on goods shipped from China or Hong Kong to the US valued at $800 or less has ended, which means that the total cost of cheap stuff from Shein, Temu, and AliExpress has more than doubled in some cases.

CNN · A massive tariff on millions of Americans’ purchases just went into effect — cue the chaosBy Elisabeth Buchwald

I made 2 orders on Aliexpress. One of them I got a message from the seller saying that because of tariffs from the US, they could not ship the product and instructed me to cancel the order to get a refund, which I did. The other order shipped. There was also a third item that I wanted to order, but could not because shipping to the US has been disabled.

Ordering from Aliexpress in the US is kind of a crapshoot these days.

Anyway, always be kind to the people that are serving you in order to resolve your issue. I always made sure to do this and it's always done everyone good, they're just doing their jobs and are there to help you after all.

I've went through this and had the same experience with
#Noctua who sent me additional mounting kits for free when I had bought the wrong cooler set for the wrong platform, #UGreen when one of my chargers weren't performing as advertised (they made me physically smash the charger they were replacing lmao), my overpriced #Razer mouse, and some #Seagate hard drives.

The only "bad" experience I've had with warranty was with a Chinese
#Shopee or #AliExpress seller I had bought a used (with "warranty") #AMD Ryzen 7 1700 CPU they'd sent me with bent pins, saying that issue "wasn't their fault", and also with the retailer that had sold me my #Nothing Phone 1 - tho in that case I believe it was an issue with Nothing's incompetence to keep their phones in stock, not the retailer themselves.

"We've proactively checked the recent tracking updates, as outlined above, and they indicate that your package, previously affected by a logistics issue, is now progressing smoothly in transit."

I guess Chinese export customs had to confirm I'm not in Trumpistan before allowing a capacitor to be shipped to me.

Geht sogar _DAS_ out of the box mit fertigteilen von ali... ;)

Tuya Zigbee Smart Scene button.
Tuya Zigbee Siren.

Bought two of these bags from #aliexpress for just under £7 each to put the DIY PAC-12 and JPC-7 antenna into. One was a bit squashed but managed to poke it back into shape. Everything is much neater now and cheaper than the purpose made bag which was over £22 last time I looked. #hamradio
