the PROPAGANDA siteCat Power | the PROPAGANDA siteCat Power (actually, Chan Marshall) is an indie artist, a singer/songwriter who has been putting out albums since 1995. Originally, she had a mostly a lo-fi, New York underground type sound, but then she took a stylistic sharp turn in 1998 and started to move into a more folk and blues oriented territory and her rock started gravitating towards a more traditional, roots-adjacent style. She is not a prolific artist, and there is usually a lifetime's backlog of events unfolding between her albums that find their way into her work, which in turn, impacts her songs tonally and thematically. This was the case when she gained a more upbeat zip in her 2012 album Sun, and then slowed down, adopting a melancholic mood in 2018's follow-up, Wanderer. Her music is never quite fully pop or overtly melodic, and her lyrics are often an honest dissection of what is going on with her life at the time.

Music is exceptionally important in my life - and when I run. So there is a plan for that as well.
