I have had #insomnia for #months . I am now diagnosed #ptsd . I worked in the #emergencyroom as a #nurse . My careeer has lasted 20 years. The last 13 have been in the level one trauma center for the province of #newbrunswick #Canada in the front lines over such pandemics as #covid and many many other human tragedies. I am tired now . If anyone did the same thing and needs a sounding board for their #recovery . Don’t ever hesitate to reach out to a friend. Or myself. #hope

Helfen solche Serien unserem Gesundheitssystem? Muss es immer so defätistisch sein, wo uns ohnehin das Wasser bis zum Hals steht? KRANK als Standard? Ein KRANK für die Nicht Vermögenden? Danke, nein!

Just read an article in the Los Angeles Times about hospital #ER wait times...

> Loma Linda University Medical Center ranked third in the country for how long
> its patients typically spent at the emergency department, with a median time of
> nearly seven hours, based on federal data.

#Canadians are now picking themselves up off the floor, #laughing.

Here in #Saskatchewan, the literal birthplace of #medicare, we would be absolutely THRILLED if ER wait times averaged "nearly seven hours". Twelve hours is more typical. And that less-than-seven-hours counts as third-worst in the #USA?

Heat-Related #ER Visits Rose in 2023, #CDC Finds
Last year was the warmest on #Earth in a century and a half, with the hottest summer on record.
Nearly 120,000 heat-related #emergencyroom visits were recorded in the surveillance program last year, with more than 90% of them occurring between May and September, the researchers found. Overall, the study also found that men and people between the ages of 18-64 had higher rates of visits

room for the “walking wounded”.

When you already feel rough enough that you’re willing to go to an #emergencyroom on a weekend, to have to sit for 8-12 hours before a plan and disposition, felt ever so cruel.

People who are #sick need lots of rest/sleep to speed recovery. To get a bed in an emergency room you basically have to so sick you’re sedated on a ventilator or vomiting up bright red blood.

So please, eat healthily, exercise most days of the week, ⬇️ETOH, sleep well and savour life! 🥰
