GalaxyCon Announces Online Auction Benefiting Mike McFarland

My wife and I attended GalaxyCon / Nightmare Weekend in Richmond, VA yesterday and I returned home with some SciFi-geek life goals fulfilled. :-)
I met The Last Starfighter stars Lance Guest (Alex) and Catherine Mary Stewart (Maggie) with photos and autographs. Good times!
(Cathy is also in Night of the Comet, another dear favorite of mine from the eighties!)

Earlier this month, I had the chance to travel to Columbus and enjoy my first GalaxyCon convention. This convention had a great lineup of sci-fi and fantasy actors, voice actors, artists, and more. There was one person in particular I wanted to meet as she is one of the best voice actors in the business.

There was one person in particular I wanted to meet as she is one of the best voice actors in the business.
Tara Strong has voiced more cartoon characters than I thought possible in a single career, including Raven on Teen Titans/Teen Titans Go!, Timmy Turner on The Fairly OddParents, Bubbles on The Powerpuff Girls, Twilight Sparkle on My Little Pony, and, most recently, Miss Minutes on Loki. Tara is incredibly friendly, plus I am very jealous of how much better her handwriting is than mine.
I was next able to meet Jonathan Frakes. He is most famous for his role as Commander William Riker on Star Trek: The Next Generation, but I wanted to get his autograph on a photo showing Jonathan doing his great work behind the camera as a director. The fact that it was from Star Trek: Discovery and featured Sonequa Martin-Green and Mary Wiseman was a bonus!
Time to get a little serious, something you should always be when you are around Gus Fring. Giancarlo Esposito, while he was at this convention for The Mandalorian, has also performed incredibly on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. As he wrote on the photo, Bad IS Best!
