I watched #Megalopolis yesterday, and yes, the rumours are true, it's a pretentious incoherent mess of a fever dream.
Some old white dude (Coppola) wanted to make something meaningful before he dies, and failed miserably.
Totally worth watching it for the lolz, though.
It's almost Tommy Wiseau or Neil Breen levels of bad, except with a huge budget.

@jenspoder Tjaa hmmmm. Den er meget flot og værd at se for de smukke og fantasifulde billeder og eventyrlige optrin. Historien er egentlig lidt kedelig (min kone faldt i søvn). Skuespillet er meget stiliseret nogle scener virker som løsrevne replikker fra forskellige film. Der er mange store følelser både vrede, had, romantik osv. men det er overhovedet ikke medrivende og som tilskuer er man fuldstændig uberørt.
Så nej det er ikke en god film. Den er heller ikke så vild og vanvittig som den selv tror... Men jeg vil gerne se den igen.

Jeg har købt Megalopolis på appleTV. Jeg kiggede lidt på et par scener. Ikke nok til at fatte hvad det handlede om . Der var noget hvor Adam Driver citerede Hamlet. Det virker som om at det er "My kind of wierd" så jeg glæder mig til at se den. #hjemmebio #film #Megalopolis

Absentes également de ce top, quelques grosses déceptions : le fiasco spectaculaire de #Megalopolis, évidemment, mais aussi La Bête, Longlegs, I Saw the TV Glow, Blink Twice et Emilia Pérez, qui m’ont laissé sur le côté malgré parfois de grandes attentes.

@Soilent Und ich hab noch überlegt, ob ich mit #Cuckoo was verpasst habe. Aber dann wohl nicht.
Bei mir wäre definitiv auch #Trap auf der Liste. Aber da hast du auf Letterboxd ja sogar 3 Sterne gegeben.
Vielleicht fehlt mir ein Horror-Gen? #Heretic kommt nämlich bei den Filmkritikern auch viel besser weg als bei mir.
Dafür war ich bei Coppola erstaunlich nachsichtig. Da rührt mich die Produktionsgeschichte wohl plötzlich doch? #Megalopolis ist halt aber auch kein Oscar-Kandidat.
