Good morning tooters. A lot of rain last night has resulted in a very foggy morning. It’s just 11c & will only get to 21c & more rain is forecast. The sun is appearing though & starting to burn off the fog.
I’ve started to pack up as I head home today & I wish I hadn’t packed my mocha pot. It’s an old one that comes with me on every sit, but I noticed that the homeowners had some of those cappuccino sachets & decided that would do for the last morning coffee & packed it - but it’s awful stuff so I’ve tipped it out and made a cup of tea instead .
No walks for the dogs this morning, but they will get one when the owners return after lunch. I’ve also been told not to bother washing my sheets either with rain forecast. So I’ll just strip & remake putting the sheets I used into laundry basket with my towels.
Looking forward to getting home, unpacking & then doing nothing else for the day. I’ve enjoyed it out here, but it has been quite a busy 4 night sit.

Happy Easter Sunday tooters. It is already about 19c here in Chiltern & it’s heading to 27c with some rain forecast this afternoon.
I need to get moving & take these dogs I’m caring for on their walk. I do believe that young Ozi may have a flea or two, or maybe it’s the chooks . I just know Ozi scratches & I have a couple or three bites - hmm! I slept with the knee brace on last night & used an extra pillow for support & my knee is a lot better. I will keep the brace on for today as well though, but at least I’m not limping now so I don’t think I tore anything & I will be very mindful when out walking this morning.
My morning routine while I’m here once I get up is to give the dogs their morning chicken wings, fill up the cats food bowls & then make a cup of tea. After which it’s full light & I can feed the chooks, then I make my own breakfast & a hot coffee. So all that is now done & I’m off for my shower & then our walk.

Slept quite soundly last night, the mattress here is pretty hard compared to mine but supposedly hard mattresses are meant to be good for us & I’ll keep telling myself that . I have a friend coming out for a visit this morning for a coffee & she’s going to help me wrangle these dogs & come for a walk with us. This afternoon I’m heading back into Wodonga to water my garden & then take the Easter pjs & bunnies to the grandkids before heading back out here for the last two nights.

Good evening tooters. I am all settled in at my house/pet sit, I was suitably greeted & loved by the dogs & then they just ignored me. The chickens were waiting in their run to be fed, so I did that & Yoshi the cat deigned to grace me with her presence after about 3hrs - it was dinner time mind you & she told me .
I’ll be able to get a picture of both dogs tomorrow. I’m very spoilt with this time at the sit. They’ve done up the guest bedroom, it’s pretty swish, aircon & ceiling fan, fancy bed, giant tv. I’ve never really watched tv in the bedroom so I’m not sure I’ll make use of it except to check it out maybe.
I’m now relaxing, in my pjs with a glass of wine & ready for a relatively quiet & relaxing weekend. #HouseSit #PetSit #Easter

Well I’m pretty happy with this. A dozen mini quiches adapted from Recipe Tin Eats crustless quiche, with my own little twist of course . Two of these with a bit of salad & there’s #Dinner. The rest will go in the freezer. #Food for another day.
My sister seems to be very slowly improving, but still on her bed most of the day. #Family
My visit to Chiltern went well, the new wee dog is a real friendly cutie, a bit nervous of men, brooms, hoses & sticks apparently, tells me way too much, the poor little thing - but was all over me & is so sweet. I will share photos when I’m there over #Easter. Also nice, they’ve done up the guest bedroom where I sleep & it’s pretty swish . #HouseSit #PetSit

Good morning tooters, another week has started. It was quite a warm night again last night & is currently about 17c heading to an ok 31c today.
I didn’t sleep in this morning - waking in the dark of what 6am is like now. Still not really sleeping soundly, but that’s ok for now. I’ve had my breakfast & my coffee ️ & in about half an hour I’ll get myself ready to go to the pool . Today I’m meeting my friend there, so lots of chats between the laps . After that I need to head up home & give my own garden a good watering. I might take back a few things that I’m not going to need for the rest of the week.
My daughter & I had planned to meet up later but we both have other things to do as well so we’ve put it off until later in the week when she has another day off & spend the day for just the two of, mother & daughter. No little ones .

I got another swim in this afternoon 1725 metres swam & at one stage I was the only person there along with a life guard. I pretended it was my own personal pool for a wee while . I’m pretty pooped now.

Good morning tooters. It’s a warm humid morning, supposedly 21c but it feels quite a bit warmer. The ceiling fan was on last night even though it was raining outside & I kept most windows open, I needed airflow. It’s heading to 28c which is quite nice & rain clearing this afternoon.
I have to begin getting organised & packed for my house/pet sit starting this afternoon. I’ll have care of #StormyTheCat for the next week while his owners are overseas. This is my local regular sit & not far away so quite easy for me. Once I’m settled in I’ll head to the supermarket as I haven’t done any real grocery shopping this week, but do need a couple of things for the week ahead. If I can & time permitting I may head to the pool again for another swim this afternoon . We will see .

Good morning tooters. It was a lovely rain filled night last night - albeit still fairly warm & isn’t that the way it should be - rain at night . It’s around 22c right now & the rain has finished, we’re heading to just 30c today. The coolest it’s been for a little while. Temps are going to rise again though . #Weather #WhereIsAutumn ?
I have to feed the animals at my other place for the last time this morning & then take my two poodle charges for a nice walk around the lake. It could be a little humid out, but the walk will be lovely. Today is my last day with them too. I head home tomorrow. It has felt a little full on doing the two places but it’s definitely kept me busy. #HouseSit #PetSit.

All settled into my house/pet sit & am very comfortable. I’ve fed the horse his evening meal, that was a doddle. I do think the dogs are already missing their Mum though, I went to look for them to give them their dinner & found George standing by the edge of the porch looking down the driveway & little Ebby sitting in the driveway both waiting for Mum to come back . George I was able to coax in but little Ebby won’t come in for her meal. So I’m holding off for a little while. #HouseSit #PetSit

Good morning my tooting friends. It’s a lovely 21c & the sun is just hitting the garden. Heading to a hot 35c today - a bit warmer than I’d like but I’ll deal with it - no choice eh! #Weather.
I woke at 6.30am today as is quite usual for me at this time of year as the seasons change. I’ll be well adapted once daylight savings finishes . As soon as it was light I gave the garden a really good watering as it won’t get another for a few days. I’ve had my breakfast & two cuppas ️ ️ & have been packing my chargers & my current book to read at the house sit plus bits & pieces. It’s time to jump in the shower & then finalise the packing, putting what fresh food into the esky that I want to take with me. I know I’ll be left some things, but I have stuff I need to use up, plus I have my own preferences like real butter & full cream milk. #HouseSit #PetSit

Good morning tooters. It’s a gorgeous morning out & a nice cool 17c so far, heading to a warmer day of 34c. #Weather
Lots of little sparrows & other birds of similar size are in the bird bath & playing in the garden, making quite a racket actually - I love it. #Garden.
I’m about to get ready to head to the pool for my swim , this will be the last day I can go to the pool until next Wednesday as I head to my house/pet sit tomorrow, so I may squeeze in a couple of extra laps if I can. #Exercise.
This afternoon I will pack my small suitcase & put together the few extras I’ll need - like my mocha ️ pot - absolutely necessary imho . I was going to make a few meals to tide me over, but decided to pack up the ingredients & make it there, just as easy really. #HouseSit #PetSit. Then later this afternoon my daughter is picking me up to go for a ‘meet the teachers’ & walk through of my granddaughters school. My granddaughter has specifically asked for me to go along with her Mum & Dad & of course I will #Family #FeelingSpecial.

I’ve quite enjoyed today, my last day at this sit before I go home in the morning. I walked to my friends place this morning before it got too hot & we had a cuppa & a chat. On the way there I saw Brer Rabbit hopping into the brambles & a little further along was some little kits & mummy rabbit nearby all quiet & still as they knew I was there. It was so quiet out it was like a Sunday morning. Walked home again after an hour or so - & basically that was me for the day. Did some cleaning up to make the tomorrow smoother. These are my charges that I’ve been caring for the ever elegant Coco & Yoshi in his clown collar that helps stop him catching birds apparently. Very easy to look after. #HouseSit #PetSit

Good morning tooters. It’s just on 7am & is about 10-11c going to climb to 28c. So it’s going to be a rather nice day here in Chiltern. #Weather
Slept pretty heavy for the first night in a different bed, had the fan going but it wasn’t exactly over-warm. I did get woken up around 3am to a dog barking & howling. I thought it was Coco, bounded out of bed to find him & he’s fast asleep in his little chair - it’s was the dog next door.
As it’s a cool morning I decided to take my cuppa back to bed with me & watch the news in there. I’d never do this at home. I’m still a little sleep groggy tbh. I may even doze a bit longer.
I can hear the chooks starting to wake up & the dog next door is barking again - barking dogs, feature of my life I think .
My view when I woke up - pretty nice I didn’t need to draw the blind as it’s cool & dim in this bedroom. Is it any wonder I like to come out here. #HouseSit #PetSit

All settled into my house sit. Arrived at lunchtime as I spent an hour or so with the relatives at my sisters as they’ll be gone by the time I go home.
Coco the dog is fast asleep on the lounge room floor & Yoshi the cat was sleeping in the corner garden & has a little clown collar on. I don’t know if there’s a special reason for it, but as it has bells presume it’s something to do with stopping it catching birds. The chickens have gifted me 6 eggs when I fed them this afternoon, so scrambled eggs for brekky tomorrow. I have Netflix here, so I’m going to watch Dune part 2 this evening & have my new book to start reading when I head to bed.

Good morning tooters. When the temps finally started dropping late last night, they dropped fast. My window thermometer had it at 25c at 9.30, that’s when I know I can turn off the air con & open up. Woken at stupid o’clock to a huge wind storm blowing through, things creaking & banging. Had to get up & deal with that & close the sliding glass door which I had left open a little. Now it’s around 19c but feels cooler & heading to a nice 28c #Weather.
Heading to Chiltern today until the 1st Jan., a regular sit of mine with a dog, a cat, a bunny & around 10 chooks. Fresh eggs . Looking forward to a change of scenery & catching up with a couple of friends. #HouseSit #PetSit
Today is the day my rent normally gets taken out of my bank account & my NZ part pension comes in. Neither has happened, it always makes me a little uneasy. I know it’s the time of year & it can get mucky, but there’s never any advice & I hate the uncertainty. It will all happen, but when! #Bureaucracy.

That’s it for me, I’ve done pretty much all I can do now until I’m ready to leave tomorrow. I taken home the bulk of my clothes & food I won’t need including all the berries I’ve been freezing. I’ve thoroughly cleaned the bathroom so that it just needs a wipe down tomorrow, I’ve dusted, swept & vacuumed. I’ve given the cats room a good clean as #StormyTheCat leaves his fluffy fur everywhere. Tomorrow I just need to strip my bed, wash the linen & mop the floors. Pack up the last of my stuff & I can go, although I will be back down at dinner time to make sure the cat comes in for dinner & the night, then again the following morning for his breakfast & to let him out. #HouseSit #PetSit

Good morning tooters. I’ve been up over an hour already, had my tea & my chia porridge & am about ready to have that first delicious coffee. It’s about 8c outside & should get to 21c with rain forecast this afternoon. Stormy the cat thinks he’s being funny this morning. I let him out outside for his ablutions & walk through the house to the bathroom for me & open the cat flap for him. I’ve barely opened it & he walks back in wanting his brekky. So I sort that out & he has one bite & then wants to go out again. Ten mins later he’s back in asking for more brekky but as he didn’t eat it all before I pretend to give him more & he’s happy to eat what is there. Now he’s gone out again but through the cat door this time. Funny old cat . #HouseSit #PetSit #StormyTheCat

Good morning tooters. Cold old morning here, had a light frost this morning, but it’s about 9c now & going up to a lovely 21c. I have the heater on as it’s cold in the house. All my weeks washing is done & hung out, it gets all the afternoon sun here, unlike my place that only gets the morning sun.
After my relatively hectic 2 days in Chiltern I’ve realised I hadn’t shared any pics of my charges, there were a few. A dog Coco - a cat Yoshi, about 10 chooks whose names I don’t know even though apparently some do & a rabbit whose name I’ve forgotten.
