Depuis le 1er janvier 2025, la réforme du RSA a instauré une obligation de 15 à 20h d’activité hebdomadaire pour les allocataires du #RSA. Si son ancêtre, le #RMI, était « un moyen de vivre ou plutôt de survivre, garanti à ceux qui n’ont rien », la réforme en cours change la philosophie de ce dispositif. Il s'agit désormais de demander des comptes aux allocataires du #RSA, dont les trois quarts vivent sous le seuil de pauvreté – une population […] en moins bonne santé que la moyenne et qui renoncent plus souvent aux soins que le reste des Français.

Today (March 1) is the 70th anniversary of the #Bravo Test, the largest nuclear weapon test ever conducted by the US, on #Bikini Atoll in the Marshall Islands. It was a radiological disaster that resulted in the irradiation and forced displacement of whole communities.

Most of this material is from attempts to “decontaminate" ships irradiated during the Operation Crossroads nuclear tests at Bikini Atoll in 1946. You may have seen images of the navy ships beneath the low hanging mushroom cloud. The US Navy towed many of these ships to the Bay Area and one by one tried to decontaminate them at Hunter's Point. They failed to decontaminate them, but succeeded in contaminating the shipyard.
They later sunk the irradiated ships at the #Farallon Islands off the coast of San Francisco, which is now the Farallon Islands National Wildlife Refuge.
