#Roy on a fine #Caturday hanging out with me outside in the morning as I sit having some tea. He likes it when I share his outside world with him. He especially likes taking me on short little walks around the neighborhood but to outside observers those "walks" probably look more like me standing in front of various houses as he examines their front yards.

He stood or rather sat guard for me from top of 9 foot fence for a while.

#Roy on his fence studying the world intently on #Caturday ! And under his blue blanket on his bed which he wants me to be in. Usually he's out of bed as I start getting up but stays until that happens. Except for his crepuscular morning shenanigans of course 😂 but then he generally comes back to bed.

#Roy guarding me below from his fences as I have a cup of tea. He started on his 2.5 meter fence. Then lay down on the narrow top, steadying himself with his forelegs. Then trotted over to his 2 meter fence. Yes he is feeling completely
better, and is nicer and more playful and affectionate than ever.

#Roy on his birthday! Happy 7th year! He started out his day 6 am by giving me 2 long lower body massages, then he lay on my belly purring for 2 hours as I pet him. He doesn't normally sleep so high up.

After getting birthday treats (Delectables licky sticks, egg yolk), he went out, and took me on a walk. He doesn't walk far, but was really happy. He rolled over and over in neighbor's yard. Then explored the green yard.

He's having a great day! Happy birthday big guy!

#Roy is finally recovering from his illness and treatment. Been almost 6 weeks.

I didn't realize until the last few days how sick he'd been because he basically hugged my hand in various ways for over 3 hours.

Today and last night his behavior seemed to pop back to normal.

Anyone who thinks these creatures don't have complex inner emotional lives doesn't know them. He was basically reaffirming our bond for 3.5 hours.

My hand basically didn't move. Roy did.

#Roy on #Caturday looking sad. Not only did he get #frontline flea treatment yesterday, which makes him groggy, we had to go to vet because he's lost his voice and may have throat infection so on antibiotics. Vet was scary for Roy because they took him away so his buddy wasn't there with him. To make matters worse, he hurt his rear leg again 5 days ago doing his death defying urban parkour running, though that heals quickly on its own. 2nd pic is his new box, and mug on 2nd ledge #CatsOfMastodon

#Roy was lying on his chair giving me slow blinks for a long time. He usually looks out the window but turned around so he could do his slow blinks at me. He's been really happy lately and is getting very relaxed. It's nice seeing him unwind so much. He's been doing that slow blinking thing a lot lately. He's not always busy mauling his toys! It's easy to see when he's peeking at me because his black eyeliner makes it obvious when his eyes aren't fully closed (pic 2).

A bit late for #Caturday #CatsOfMastodon but here is #Roy mauling his yellow tuna, and later, my hand. Yes he got a pinch of #catnip but he's been trying to dismember that fish from the day he saw it. Then Roy saying "What!?" before continuing his assault. Later I sacrificed my bare hand, but he really likes playing that way. Yes I use disinfectant after. His bite and claw control isn't nearly as precise when he's buzzed but it's all in good fun. Next time might use leather gardening gloves 😂

#Roy is taking his #Caturday morning nap. Not on one of his many ledges, or attacking one of his victims, aka toys. Just chilling out on his bed. On his blanket. They used to be mine, but he corrected this confusion quickly. He does let me lie in it as long as I don't get in his way. Or especially if I make him a snug leg canyon. Which is his favorite thing. Well, except Delectables licky sticks of course. Sometimes a dude just needs to relax.
