Preview of upcoming projects. Got The Iron Priest built for the Space Wolves.
Turned into a hobby day as I worked on the build backlog including getting some old Space Wolves rebased for the Crusade and getting another box of Primaris sized Blood Claws built. Also finally got around to building Typhus for the Death Guard and the Kurnoth Hunters for the Sylvaneth.
Glued the replacement leg for the Grey Hunter and waiting on the plastic putty to dry to do some sanding. Also here is a little preview of a planned spooky project coming in the future.
Forgot a new thing! https://curiousity.ca/2025/forgot-a-new-thing/ In my previous post about fiber goals I’d claimed not to have done anything new in July, but I forgot I made a book nook! It’s not apparent from the photo but it’s sized to fit on a bookshelf. This was a kit I bought online a year or two ago. I did decided some … Continue reading → #BookNook #FiberGoals #ModelBuilding
Question: I'm looking to start with airbrushing my small scale models.
As there's something with forest and trees: I need advice.
Any tips for a decent airbrush gun, accessories & compressor for someone who is just starting?
If it matters: my models are rather small (1:87 and 1:32 train models) and I won't be doing square meters..
Note: am cheaparse so not looking to break the bank.
Thanks!
I assembled/painted the Commlock just over a year ago, and I finally got around to putting the Stun Gun together this week! I think they came out pretty well! :) #space1999 #modelbuilding #painting #scifi
My #hobby workspace is finally reorganized, so I can get back to building. I'll be starting work on the X-Plus Bride of Frankenstein model kit soon for a Halloween Group Build.
Actually finished him last night, but I wasn't feeling up to writing the alt text at the time.
I unfortunately broke a peg off trying to fight through a too-tight fit, so I had to cement one of the shields on. I don't think that'll actually hold particularly well, so I may need to drill to reinforce, but for now it's *fine.*
Good Boy's lookin' pretty fine now.
Starting with Nick's new digs, the caps are swapped from orange to black. It makes the orange on the shoulders stand out that much more, but... I think I'm fine with it.
Good Boy's body is finished. The AC cannon and other accessories will come later, maybe tomorrow.
It looks worse in pictures than in person, which is an odd contrast to, say, Natalia, who got a lot of compliments from people who only saw pictures of her, but whose flaws are apparent in person.
Sitting out the only pride thing I wanted to go to this year trying to want to live, so let's build a dog.
Remember Good Boy? He was my first, from January of 2023. The first pic is his core. It's going into a new body. That's right, my good boy is getting chassis surgery :3
The paint on the armour wound up a bit.. I dunno, marblier than it looked like it would before it fully set? It's alright, but kind of a disappointment after the effort put in.
Legs soon.
I had some more in the tank tonight, so I did the silver/lead grey mix and tackled everything that needs it. Shockingly, I wound up with enough of the mix, but not so much that I wound up dumping a bunch afterward.
This project is... well it's getting a little crowded, trying to keep everything with enough room to properly dry and set
There's four other (small) sprues I had to locate elsewhere too. By far the majority of this model is painted now.
next gunpla is the mg eclipse! did this over two sessions with the panel lining and detail added for each part so there's less to do at once

Got the Wolf Guard Battle Leader and Wolf Priest models from the new Space Wolves kit built so far. They really are pretty cool sculpts.
Day 1. Probably. Iunno, I might do more tonight.
Body, head, and weapons pieces done. The center sprue (E) didn't need a lot of paint, thankfully. Most of those pieces are from the command wolf's normal main gun, but this'll be an AC variant (note the sprue on the right) so I didn't paint them.
There's some bare plastic on the AC sprue as well, because I want to do the barrels in gunmetal. Finally, there's pieces which will need gold or silver detailing at the end.
Ho boy this is going to be a lot
