If I was to do a Kickstarter for RPGTBD you would:
@grumpygamer would back, but changing the name couldn't hurt
@grumpygamer If I had a billion USD in the bank I'd throw a million at it immediately, sir. Unfortunately I'm not in that good of a condition. So I can merely wish the best! I trust your design/writing judgment by now.
@synlogic And that is good enough.
@grumpygamer Is the game procedurally generated? Then RPG To Be Determined would be a good name.
@grumpygamer I would back it because I buy every game you make, it's like a curse!
@grumpygamer I NEED IT RIGHT NOW
@grumpygamer I'll help fund your game by buying it when it comes out. Why give Kickstarter 8-10%?
@sumokirby @grumpygamer It's better to give up 8% to kickstarter and get the money early, than giving up 15%~30% to storefronts later
@grumpygamer I voted for no name change, but honestly I’d back it either way
@grumpygamer what do you need? Money? Power?
@grumpygamer Strong maybe with annoying asterix, I'd need it to run on Linux since it's all I run. But building against Linux can be a PITA (I helped to debug some indie games I bought, fun)
@emil My engine runs on Mac/Win/Linux so not an issue.
@grumpygamer @emil linux on ARM?
@grumpygamer I'm upgrading my previous comment to "almost certain support money permitting" ;-)
@grumpygamer only if it has a stretch goal for Super Nintendo Switch.
@stephann @grumpygamer That would be a killer name for the new Switch, ha ha!
I would back the game when I saw some actual gameplay. Graphics are nice the way they are now.
I'd like the game to keep its working name – it would be a nod to the Community.
@DavittoKun Game play? I have to add that too? This is turning into a lot of work.
@grumpygamer Crazy times!
Jokes aside, all games these days are made on top of a solid economic foundation.
It's just unfair for the indie developer to stand it by more or less living on the tightrope.
RPGTBD needs some financial muscle for it to be as good as we know it will be.
Enough said
@grumpygamer I would certainly back it if it came with Linux support.
@grumpygamer Depends on whether there's a Linux native port!
@karl Of course it will! My engine already runs on Linux.
@grumpygamer That is good to hear! I don't take it for granted since I became aware of the position of No More Robots on the topic (too many bug reports and too little sales, so even if a Linux build exists they won't sell it).
I'll be happy to pre-order the game in that case. :)
@grumpygamer I was very happy how well TWP went and had mostly positive experience with Kickstarter. The majority of projects succeeded in shipping something, I even got a few refunds for stuff that didn't work out down the line. But I haven't been on Kickstarter for a really long time, so realisticly: I won't back it and just opt for GOG or Steam once released.
@grumpygamer I don't know if it's my kind of game but, given that it will run in Linux, if Donald Trump isn't elected I might chip in a few bucks out of sheer relief.
@grumpygamer Well, I guess that's out now. The game will just have to convince me on its own merits.
It's going to be a long four years...
@grumpygamer I missed the poll but I’d back it too.
@grumpygamer Thimbleweed Park was the only game I ever backed. Sign me up.
@grumpygamer Looks like the poll is over, but I`d still throw money your way, just tell me where!
