Over the next few days, we want to highlight two notable games from each year - one taken from Steam & one found on itchio

Let's start! 🧵

Before Godot became open source, it was used at OKAM Studio to develop games, the first being this interactive point & click adventure based on a popular comic book series 🕵️🍕

The first demo released in 2014, as preparation for a Kickstarter.

Godot Engine :godot:

Multiple endings are being offered by this humorous text-based game, but what makes our pick extra special is that no one other than @coaguco made it, the maintainer of the module!

Let's start with the best news: a sequel to this successful fighter game is supposed to arrive this year! 🥊🏅

Designed to be easy to pick up, yet there is a unique spin on the genre: every hit is lethal.

This game was inspired by collect-em-all RPGs, and is undeniably queer. While you try to calm down your clothes, you also get to experience a light-hearted yet emotional story about the trans experience 🏳️‍⚧️👖

Between the decription "An immersive power fantasy simulator with tactical stealth elements set in a sewage infused garbage world", the "Capitalism" tag, and being in an "Economic Body Horror" bundle, there is no better explanation we can write here.

Another jam game joins these ranks, this time by providing you with a long spear (who would've thought) and 13 explosive puzzles 🧨🌿

@godotengine It's a great game, but never migrated to godot3, :(

@eickot @godotengine Tanks Of Freedom 2 is a work in progress written in Godot 4.

@godotengine I've been wondering, if we could do a Linux mobile game jam and find some sponsors

@razze @godotengine What do ya mean by Linux mobile? Talking about Android or Ubuntu touch? Or just Android AND GNU/Linux Desktop?

@smorty @godotengine not android. Phosh, kde plasma mobile, gnome shell etc. DE shouldn't matter

@razze @godotengine right, I forgot about those! Thanks for reminding me! Don't think it'd be a huge hit though. Too little people are using GNU/Linux on mobile, so maybe there would be like 4 participants, two of which actually have a mobile phone with GNU/Linux. Cool idea though, to make a game jam specifically for the GNU/Linux mobile platform.

@smorty @godotengine I don't think you need to have a real phone, but might depend on the engine you end up using

@razze @godotengine fair point, it'll probably run the same as it would any other arm based GNU/Linux desktop. Maybe a mobile ja in general would be better, and it should just be a requirement to have to export to Android AND GNU/Linux mobile. This would increase the amount of participants and amount of games produced for Linux mobile.

@godotengine the game jam "market" is oversaturated anyway, in my opinion, and there are multiple unofficial Godot jams, so i don't see much of a point tbh.

@godotengine started playing this one recently and I've been enjoying it so far!

@godotengine this game made me start using godot if you haven't played it you absolutely need to check it out

@ivan_reshetnikov don't make the graphic designer struggle is all we are saying xD

@godotengine Did you check Your Only Move Is Hustle? It's a pretty unique and amazing godot game I've never seen mentionned anywhere on your showcases.

@obanigarage hah, what a coincidence to read this as we're about to upload the 2022 batch 😏

@godotengine I did not realize how long RPG in a Box has existed already! 🎉

@godotengine are you saying that Godot looks like Godot, because the Godot UI is made with Godot?
