I haven't been using #Spotify or any kind of media streaming services for years now because I made the upgrade to physical or local media (vinyl, cassette, CD, and digital music files).
Some things I miss are the Release Radar, the auto-generated "radios" (similar song recommendation playlists), and of course #Wrapped.
Come to think of it, there _must_ be some #OpenSource tool that I can manually put my music into that replicates those features, right??
@lianna A text document.
@krimsonbun Thank you for not reading my post at all!
@lianna So some of that I think plex has a radio functionality although not as robust as online streaming, now on opensource side I'd say jellyfin but having not leveraged/used it at all I can't speak to its feature-set.
Not sure if it's exactly hat you are looking for, but maybe Funkwhale would work? It's part of the Fediverse: https://fedidb.org/software/funkwhale
@DreamGryphon It gets quite close, thank you! The question is just whether it can recommend me music outside my own library or supports non-Funkwhale free artists fully. I'd need to look into it.
