Since Unity will now benefit financially per install of a game, I’m sure they will remove the requirement to display their logo on startup. (Which was their previous strategy for benefiting per install.)
Right? Right?
Note: This Unity price change doesn’t affect me. The Unity games I’ve released (Meanwhile and Leviathan) are niche games, far far under the thresholds at which runtime fees kick in. I can reasonably keep distributing them and even release new Jason Shiga games using the same engine.
However, Unity is right out for any future project that might conceivably be a surprise hit.
Holy crap, I was right.
