A screenshot from the #ZurichHB webcam footage this morning: #SBB #Re420 Re4/4 11109, in #SwissExpress #Cremeschnitte livery, is pulling the colourful consist of #Euronight #Canopus from #Prague away from the platform and to the yard. The train also conveys #ÖBB 
#nightjet through cars from Berlin .

Midi in the very early 2000s: this is #EuroNight #EN225 #Donauwalzer for #Munich and, as the name suggests, #Vienna . The Munich portion is positioned right behind the #SNCB #NMBS Class 27 electric, the first car being a #DB sleeper, displaying its blue livery.
#Genova 
to #Vienna with #ÖBB #Nightjet, displayed as #EuroNight on the departure board. I’m travelling in a #couchette car of the #Jenbach type. These comfortable carriages were originally built in the early 1980s and have received several upgrades since.

My long-distance night train map has been updated to 2025! It shows both trains with sleeping cars of all companies and brands like #Nightjet, #EuropeanSleeper, #EuroNight and trains without sleeping cars like overnight #ICE and #IC trains in #Germany.

Some hours later, it's breakfast time. If you travel on the #EuroNight northwards, breakfast is provided in #SJ Bistro car. First class passengers are served in the compartment, we have to walk across a couple of coaches. You can even get 
vegan breakfast boxes today. #WrigglingIntoWinter
Our sleeping compartment in #SJ 's #EuroNight is rather narrow, but our two small suitcases fit into the overhead rack just exactly. I miss some coat hooks, we don't know where to put our jackets and clothes. Otherwise, the compartment is fine. The signs clear up every doubt: We are on the way up north. #WrigglingIntoWinter

The next leg of our journey is realised by #SJ 's #EuroNight service Berlin-Stockholm. I finally made it! Tonight - well, actually it was three days ago - there are still couchette and 2nd class sleeping compartments in this #nighttrain available. #WrigglingIntoWinter
#Firenze station: boarding #ÖBB #Nightjet to #Vienna , labelled #EuroNight on the departure board. An ÖBB 1216 #Taurus is hauling the train.
I kept a bookmark from an Austrian timetable booklet in the early 1980s, advertising the night train #Remus, Rome to Vienna, running basically on the same timeslot.
The journey with #EuroNight 50467 Zürich-Praha was impeccable, a good compensation for my last nighr train experience on #Norrut. #Vlakend
The couchette compartment of #EuroNight #EN40462 was a former DB one run by #Hungarian railways with the blue #couchettes. Four out of six being sold. Aircon was working ok for most of the time, but not all the time... Managed to get some sleep

Taking the SJ #EuroNight #nighttrain from Stockholm to Berlin tonight. The train left on time at 17:34, but we are still in Södertälje Syd because of an electrical failure between here and Gnesta. There is no information on when the train can proceed. Have a #sleeper cabin, hoping to wake up in Germany. Always exciting to #interrail!
Farewell to Prague, for now.
Managed to create data visualisations for our climate change project, finish the intro chapter of my thesis and send in a postdoc application (with colleagues). And hold a lecture at the Czech Academy of Sciences. Phew!
Now direct train ( #EC378Berliner ) to Berlin, then #Euronight train to Sweden.

So, this is a night #train from Warsaw to Munich/Budapest/Praha/Wien.
It has both comfy sitting coaches and modern sleeper coaches. That's how #EuroNight services should operate. Surprisingly the sleeper coaches are full, while the ones with seats are nearly empty
