Toller Vortrag von Akademiemitglied @rahmstorf (Potsdam-Institut für Klimafolgenforschung) beim heutigen #Mittagssalon der @BBAW! Einstieg mit #Humboldt, Daten & Argumente sowie den (aufgrund von Lobbyismus u eines "erstaunlichen Medienversagens") "unbekannten Konsens" unter Klimawissenschaftler:innen eindrücklich klar gemacht. Dieser Konsens liegt bei fast 100%, in der öffentlichen Wahrnehmung eher so bei 60%. Ähnliches Verhältnis bei der Frage, ob die Klimakatastrophe menschengemacht ist.

Got to Eureka this AM and learned it has more galleries & co-ops than expected. Like, an absurd amount for its size! VERY robust arts community here.

Made it to a farmers market, Explored some of Old Town, got great food, & then drove around the area. Intrigued thus far! More exploring tomorrow!

Didn’t get any good pics of our explorations today in Eureka itself—there’s plenty of that online already. But I will say it’s small-town(ish) vibe is endearing, and the two folks we asked about the community say that folks who “buy into” the community have a tendency to be deeply committed to it. I think that’s very evident by the activism, initiatives, and small businesses here… So that’s a plus!
