Mein Foto zum #FotoMontag entstand vor dem Institut für Anatomie der Universität #Rostock. Eigentlich habe ich beim ersten Regen seit längerem dort auf jemanden mit einem Regenschirm gewartet. Natürlich um noch weitere Kreissegmente ins Bild zu bekommen. Leider hatte ich nicht so viel Glück. Aber auch mit dem Radfahrer bin ich nicht unglücklich. Mal schauen, ob jemand darauf kommt, warum.

My photo for #PhotoMonday was taken in front of the Institute of Anatomy at the University of Rostock. I was actually waiting for someone there with an umbrella during the first rain in a while. To get some more circle segments in the picture, of course. Unfortunately, I wasn't so lucky. But I'm not unhappy with the cyclist either. Let's see if anyone can figure out why.

Dass mal jemand schön mittig durch das Steintor in #Rostock läuft, ich selbst auch schön mittig stehe, kein Auto im Hintergrund fährt und ich nicht wirklich auf das Motiv warten musste – etwas Glück gehört manchmal dazu.

Someone walking nicely in the middle through the Steintor in #Rostock, me also standing nicely centered, no car driving in the background and I didn't really have to wait for the motif - sometimes it takes a bit of luck.

Hier stehe ich wirklich häufig und oft steht auch jemand vor mir – aber noch nie so fotogen wie hier. Gut, dass die kleine X100 immer dabei ist. Das „Fadenkreuz“ habe ich auch erst im fertigen Foto bemerkt. Rät jemand, was auf den Bildschirmen normalerweise angezeigt wird?

I stand here really often and often someone stands in front of me - but never as photogenic as here. It's a good thing that the little X100 is always with me. I only noticed the “crosshairs” in the finished photo. Can anyone guess what is normally shown on the screens?

In der Mittagszeit zeichnet die Sonne ein X in das Atrium des Konrad-Zuse-Hauses auf dem Südstadtcampus in #Rostock. Bis vor wenigen Tagen konnte dort die Ausstellung „Geknebelter Geist – Politische Überwachung und Verfolgung an der Rostocker Universität 1945 bis 1989/90“ besichtigt werden. Inzwischen wird sie an einem anderen Ort gezeigt.

Zwei junge Menschen betrachten eine Installation im White Cube der Rostocker Kunsthalle. Als sie fort waren, habe ich gemerkt, wie schwer es ist, weiße Gegenstände in einem weißen Raum zu fotografieren. Erst ihre schwarze Kleidung, die Reflexionen der Glasscheibe und die andere Installation, die wie dunkles Laub aussieht, setzen Akzente im Foto.

Two young people look at an installation in the White Cube of the #Rostock Kunsthalle. When they were gone, I realized how difficult it is to photograph white objects in a white room. Zum #FotoMontag kommt uns bei Dunkelheit am Kuhtor in #Rostock ein Radfahrer entgegen. Zum Glück hatte er den Fotografen gesehen, der da wohl schon 15 Minuten in der Kälte hockte – bei dunstiger Luft sollte die Straßenlaterne im Hintergrund für eine Silhouette sorgen.

On #PhotoMonday, a cyclist comes towards us in the dark at Kuhtor in Rostock. Luckily, he had seen the photographer, who had probably been sitting there in the cold for 15 minutes - in the hazy air, the street lamp in the background was supposed to create a silhouette.

Das Foto zum #FensterFreitag entstand vor einem der wenigen Geschäfte in der Kröpeliner Straße in #Rostock, dass nicht zu einer Kette gehört. Die Reflexionen der Schaufenster auf dem feuchten Pflaster hatten mich angezogen. Ich hätte lieber genau vor jedem Fenster eine Person gehabt. Aber zwei mal weiße Sneaker in idealer Schrittstellung – das war genug Glück genug. Ich warte nur sehr ungern länger als 15 Minuten an einem Ort.

The photo for #WindowFriday was taken in front of one of the few stores on Kröpeliner Straße in Rostock that doesn't belong to a chain. I was attracted by the reflections of the shop windows on the damp pavement. I would have preferred to have a person right in front of each window. But two pairs of white sneakers in the ideal step position - that was luck enough. I don't like waiting in one place for more than 15 minutes.

Beim Blick durch einen Durchgang zur anderen Bahnsteigseite in der U-Bahnstation Hauptbahnhof Süd in #Hamburg traute ich meinen Augen kaum. Die Frau stand mit dem Rücken zu mir, fast perfekt mittig zum Torbogen, die Farbe des Mantels passend zu den Fliesen des Durchgangs. Und dann lief auch noch die Taube ins Bild. Und ich erwischte diese dann auch noch in einem Moment mit überkreuzten Beinen – passend zu denen der Frau. Perfekt für den #FotoMontag!

I could hardly believe my eyes when I looked through a passageway to the other side of the platform in the Hauptbahnhof Süd subway station in Hamburg. The woman was standing with her back to me, almost perfectly centered to the archway, the color of her coat matching that of the tiles of the passageway. And then this pigeon ran into the picture. And I caught it at a moment with its legs crossed - just like the woman's legs. Perfect for #PhotoMonday!
