Going to be a day of sport on the TV with plenty of cups of tea to rehydrate. Just caught the second half of the final game of the #NRL Magic Round - great finish - and there's now #Pompey taking on Hull in the final #EFL game of the season to be followed by three #SuperLeague Magic Weekend matches.

Chances for both teams, and now Watford down to ten. Not much in the offending tackle for me but he was the last defender and I'm not going to be too upset by the result.
1-0 at the half. Almost mathematically safe. Thought we started the best but Watford looking pretty comfortable as the half has progressed.
Cracking shot from the unfortunately-named Watford player, Louza, just tipped a fraction onto the bar by Schmid. Would've been a stunning goal and I'm rather glad it wasn't.
Watford keeper parries a cross out, Bishop's there to head it at the goal, the keeper saves again but only knocks it back onto Bishop's head where it bounces straight into the net and I'm not sure how much Bishop knew about that one. They all count. 1-0.
Made our way up to Urban Island brewery to take advantage of the ridiculously nice weather we're experiencing. Wife has gone for Happy Pils, a German Pilsner-type, while I've opted for one I've not had before. North Shore is an IPA with Idaho 7 hops and it's got a lovely, smooth taste, very sessionable.

0-0 at the half. Reasonably even. Both teams with periods of possession and chances, Coventry with the best of them although Pompey going closest, and Coventry definitely should've had a penalty too.

#Portsmouth is famous for its #naval traditions and has a #RoyalNavy base there, which goes back several centuries. Some old naval #ships have been restored and are open to the public, such as #HMSWarrior here.
As #spring is here, it’s time to resume our own form of #EthicalTourism or #EcoToruism (day trips involving travel only by #bike and #PublicTransport – #Trains, in this case). As I’m a #StructuralEngineer, I like seeing interesting #structures and so I picked #Portsmouth. Quite recently, it had a #tower built called the #SpinnakerTower as it resembles a #spinnaker #sail. It is by no means unique, nor is it the tallest, but it’s comfortably within a day trip’s distance of us.

2025 council tax bill just arrived in the post. It included an A5 size picture of Donna Jones. For the love of fuck, Portsmouth City Council, put some warning on the envelope next time. I might have been eating.
Local law prohibits visitors to Gunwharf from not taking a photo of the Spinnaker Tower and posting it online. Technically, I obeyed this law when I posted it on an Instagram story yesterday but I see no reason not to share it here too.
We were out just over eight hours today, originally "just to pop down Gunwharf, see if there's anything to take on our upcoming cruise" but the weather was nice and we got distracted on the way back. Pub. Pub. Avoid the racists protesting in Guildhall Square. Pub. Pub. Well, you know how it is.
Home now, though. Kebabs ordered. It's the law post-pubbing.
