ROS node active! It uses #OpenCV to look for blue blobs and then publishes the coordinates of the bounding box (of the largest detected blue object). A subscriber node publishes (a very delayed) raw image feed to a flask server for debugging. Next up: driving!

Color blob tracking! The painful part was getting legacy camera drivers to work with the Pi Cam 2 on Ubuntu so I can eventually use #OpenCV with #ROS. Next: let’s get this bot moving! #Python #robotics

Next up: writing a motor driver in #Arduino that accepts serial commands from #ROS running on the #RaspberryPi (to do the heavy processing, like #OpenCV). I hope to get some kind of object tracking/following as a demo on the #XRP #edgeAI

I got to play around with a UR5 robot arm today!
It was actually pretty tedious, getting some smaller things to run and integrating three separate components with different drivers and some ifconfig shenanigans. In the end, we got it to grab a banana.

The teach panel (control thingie) was fun though. I even pressed the big red stop button when something went wrong.
I might also have tried to poke people with it :3

Soon i can't see ROS code anymore. Because of the suddenly ROS end of life i had migrated ~30 ROS packages to ROS2 and that's only the neccessary packages. I never liked ROS at any time. There are so many bad design decisions and some are even worse now in ROS2.
