I just saw in the timeline an untagged #TOMT (#TipOfMyTongue) post that got solved by the Fediverse, so I'm boosting again my own, that has been open for over a year and still hasn't found an answer. Can the Fediverse show its greatness to me today?
This is the original post, including some (failed) attempts to solve it:
Since my memory is failing and Google isn't any better, I'm going to #askFedi for some #fediHelp finding the title and author of a #SciFi #ShortStory featuring a #timeLoop: “they” suddenly appear wish spaceships on the edges of the Solar System and with no warning wipe out the outer colonies. Earth quickly sets up a space navy to face the unknown enemy, but as the enemy approaches Earth it stops fighting and is easily defeated.

@grumpygamer there's a movie I can't remember the title of where the main character has a brain that keeps growing, and there's a scene where he steals the part of it that was surgically removed and had kept growing in a lab, and buries it together with some abnormally long bones.
(BTW if anybody can help me find it, I'd be grateful. #TOMT #askFedi)
Diminishing returns. Semantic satiation.
Fuck. what's the word for when one is exposed so much to something, that eventually it begins to lose all meaning/purpose/value/worth.
That 2nd one I listed is specific to saying a word, is there like a more general one?
I feel like there's a term for that w/chemical receptors in your brain but 1) can't recall it 2) not sure if that's what I'm looking for either.

OK maybe I can try this in English too. I'm looking for a #horror #comic or short #graphicNovel that was published in the #eighties or earlier and was a graphical representation of the well know “boyfriend's death” story (Sheriff finds the girl variant)
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/the-boyfriends-death/
It was published on an Italian comics magazine in the 70s or 80s, but I'm sure it was American. I can't find the issue anymore. Anybody knows it? Boosts welcome for reach.
EDIT: solved!
