We visited the Observatorie De Colibríes near Bogotá, where many different species of hummingbirds fly around. This male White-bellied Woodstar was hovering near one of the feeders.
Although artificial nectar feeders can be controversial due to the specific requirements of the nectar as well as hygiene concerns (they need to be thoroughly cleaned every 1-2 days), they are a good way to observe and photograph these small and fast birds.

@Tommie ich denke die Frage war eher, wie man die Kartenansicht innerhalb von #Digikam ändern kann.
In der unteren rechten Ecke sollte es einen Button geben um die Kartenansicht zu ändern.

In Digikam kann ich mir die Position eines Bildes auf einer Karte anzeigen lassen.
Leider ist die Karte nur in der Landessprache, mit Chinesisch stosse ich da an meine Grenzen :)
Weiss jemand wie ich die Kartensprache auf lateinische Schrift umstellen kann?

@abosio i mainly do yyyy/trip then also just a /memories from the year as i dont take that many pictures per day. Im fairly certain #digikam can do what you ask, and im certain #shotwell can do it, but i dont use that anymore. #immich shows all the photos in a date timeline anyway so easy to find a certain pic that way aswell. So you would just have one extra step: import to /tempfolder & shotwell has that as an ingest folder, and output folder as the syncthing share.
I have found that all of the "solutions" I've looked at are just locking you into some more specific ecosystem, so went back to the revolutionary idea of using the #filesystem I have my photos and videos in a folder structure on my laptop by year, trip.
I don't auto backup from my #iPhone or #Sonya6700 anymore, that really just synced a load of cruft I had to delete, or pay to store. I move photos I want to my laptop, where I adjust and edit them in #darktable / #rawtherapee / #digikam

Erneute Annäherung an #RawTherapee, um Fuji-Fotos zu bearbeiten. Seeehr langsam. Vor allem aber zeigen die einzelnen Bearbeitungsregler entweder keinen Effekt oder viel zu viel und grässlichen gar. #Digikam macht’s nicht besser.
Leider ist meine Geduld da immer schnell am Ende. Wieder auf Windows und mit #Lightroom flutscht es und läuft vertraut und gut.
Ob Gesichterkennung, Beschreibungstext, Kategorien oder manuelle Tags – all diese Infos gehören nicht nur in eine Datenbank, sondern auch als Metadaten direkt ins #Bild (EXIF/XMP/IPTC etc.).
Ich habe im Laufe der Jahre zwei Programme intensiver genutzt:
Damals unter Windows: #Picasa (RIP). Heute unter Linux: #Digikam.
Jetzt überlege ich, auf eine serverbasierte Lösung umzusteigen – aber immer bleibt dieselbe Frage:
Wie #portabel sind meine Daten, wenn die Software ausfällt oder ich wechseln will?
Eine Metadatenstrategie, die auf offene Standards setzt, erleichtert Backups, Migration, parallele Nutzung und langfristige Verfügbarkeit.
Wie seht ihr das?

Very nice list of app alternatives for big tech. Would also add #Syncthing as an alt (p2p) for #GoogleDrive, #digiKam as an alt (offline) for #GooglePhotos / #ApplePhotos, and #LibreOffice as an alt (offline) to #GoogleDocs.

Hier verwende ich die Bilddatenbank "digiKam" seit einiger Zeit testweise als Alternative für ein kommerzielles System und bin sehr zufrieden. Mit den wenigen Einschränkungen kann ich ganz gut leben und bin auf dem Sprung, den Wechsel zu "digiKam" ganz zu vollziehen.
