so, a measure of the biological health and diversity of an area is the ratio of the area we let #motherNature ( #gaia ) manage vs the area that humans manage.
The work ahead is to figure out how to recover areas managed by humans.
The challenge going forward is to get the people, corps and our governments that maintain lawns to stop mowing before the natural wild flowers in the area go to seed but to mow before the #invasive #species go to seed. 1/2

This is what a coconut palm tree damaged by coconut Rhinoceros beetles looks like. Was on the north shore of Oahu a few hours ago & many or even most of the palms there are damaged.
The state is very worried. The beetles are well-established, it appears.
