I usually use this cotton thread for shuttle tatting and it makes a lovely lace. That made me want to try crocheting it as well, and this is the result. I'm thinking i can make another strip like this and use them as cuffs on a blouse, swipe to see ➡️
Thoughts? Will it look nice? What kind of fabric should i look for and what kind of a blouse/shirt/top should the cuffs go with?

:BoostOK:
Is¹ there anyone else out there doing "lace" by interlinking braids of three² yarns instead of two?
Because my brain was to bored by just weaving with two³ bobbins and had the weird thought of "Lace making, but with weaving!" and i could not find anything like that on the net⁴.

1: Or was?
2: Or More.
3: Or rather four, if you do lace you know what i mean.
4: Though i am new to lace making and don't know much terminology to search for.

Another one from my never-ending list of crafts: shuttle tatting! This is a ye olden maid kind of skill. It's tiny, finicky and not particularly forgiving. I love it 😌
This is a shuttle and ball pattern, using my favourite Aerlit shuttle with the tiny hook. Gonna continue this pattern until it's choker length and either attach it lengthways to a velvet ribbon or just use a bit of silk ribbon in the back for closure. It'll be gifted to a dear friend who likes to dress up for ren fairs etc.

In rural Sweden it was tradition for brides to wear a golden crown on their wedding day. If you get married in a country church there’s is in many places still a crown available for renting on your big day.
But in some parts of Dalecarlia there was a second crown. One stashed away in some hidden place. It was no less special, despite not being kept on hallowed ground. You see - if a maiden died unwed, she would be afforded the privilege to wear another golden crown to the wake.

I present to you: Jungfrulik.

A little late posting this, but here's a snowflake I tatted for a white elephant gift exchange. It's the most complicated piece I'd made at the time, but I learned a lot about tensioning my threads and working with beads. I added some beads at the snowflake tips for practice and also to add a bit of variety.
