Finishing the last few achievements in Satisfactory. This game is EXTREMELY pretty. Amazing environments, huge draw distance. Just a fantastic engine - well done that team!

From here you can see the first 75% of my game - the desert biome - and that's only about a fifth of the world!

@TomF *whines* but the ui is so appy

same complaint as with NMS. at some point, they stop designing and just offload the rest into windows forms with radio buttons lists and checkboxes. it's one step short of an excel sheet

@lritter Anyway, I disagree. It's a really nice UI that works as designed, has a ton of bells and whistles, each one has a fairly standard layout that shows me what I expect where I expect it, and doesn't get in my way.

@TomF @lritter also disagree. I love the big breaker switches and toggle switches. My only beef is that the “Search” box should ALWAYS have focus when you open anything

@sinbad @TomF i'm just a sucker for great diegetic interfaces. and putting a TFT in the world is not quite the same... reminds me too much of work.

@lritter @sinbad @TomF Have you played/seen Astroneer? One of the best diegetic interfaces I've seen in a survival crafter.

(You are actually carrying your inventory on your back. You always see what's in there and it's also where you interact with it.)

@artificialmind @sinbad @TomF yeah i keep mentioning astroneer as positive example that it's possible to do something else in this space.

@sinbad @lritter @artificialmind Astroneer is quite impressive. A mere 5 minutes in and I'm stuck. "Build a tether". Cool. How? There's some stuff I can click on and it does... unknown stuff. I can click on the backpack and there's a word saying "tether" and clicking on it or anything near it does nothing. No tooltips anywhere. The tutorial is useless. This is exactly the bullshit I hate about "no interface" games.

@lritter @TomF @sinbad @artificialmind Hehe. I love the idea of Astroneer's interface, but I hate actually using it. The crafting interface is the worst of it all. Also yeah... that game makes a lot of "Oops I figured it out by accident..."

the new zelda has guts. forget crafting. you just spam objects. done. GOTY

@lritter @slembcke @TomF @sinbad except for the Atelier games where half the game is crafting and I like the crafting more than the fighting

@lritter that's a series of JRPG games with immense focus on crafting, where the (cozy) story is intertwined with your crafting achievements and there's actual skill progression in the crafting. It basically ruined crafting for me in any other game.
