I'd probably be forever banned from all the "influencer developer" circles. You know, guys like "The Primeagen" and the like?
My crime? I write code comments and I use basic language constructs, how dare? :D
(as a side note, I keep marking "Do not recommend channel" to YouTube but these clowns keep popping up in my timeline)
@alfredbaudisch I do like primeagen , but tbh he doesn't generally make "the only truth" claims. That said, I do hate these dev influencers too.
But way worse it's youtube ads of courses by dev influencers
@Andre_LA oh thanks to uBlock origin + Firefox it's been probably two years since I've had to watch a YouTube ad. Really recommended!
As for Primeagen, he's of course insanely charismatic, but his content is not appealing for me - I prefer to read articles than having someone SCREAMING READING IT , I read much faster than watching someone else read it for me.
But the problem is his audience that is the typical toxic developer and elitist circle ("if you don't use vim you suck" bla bla bla).
@alfredbaudisch Hehe I see, I like following him mostly bc he endsup reading articles I generally would not read (I'm not a web dev, at least for now, thinking about migrating tbh).
@alfredbaudisch Oh so ublocks have been working? I thought YT basically blocked adblockers
@Andre_LA under Chromium browsers adblockers are not working, but Firefox + uBlock works.
@alfredbaudisch Oh interesting.
@alfredbaudisch there are some devs out there who add some unnecessary complexity to avoid simple if/switch stataments
