Game maker peeps! Am I correct in reading that this rand() method can return numbers from argument0 to (argument1 + 1) INCLUSIVE? I might be reading this wrong but it looks like a bug that rand(1,2) could return 3.

Here's what a couple years away from a project will do to a girl. First I do a run through this area under the old version, and then a second run on the new version. I think the changes speak for themselves

As it stands, I'm tinkering with a game which will only have one "main" scene so I'm not super fussed at the moment. Just don't really want to use #GameMaker methods in a totally different engine, yaknow?
Question for #Godot friends, perhaps a little obscure:
Back in my #GameMaker days, the accepted method for collecting global bits (mainly vars) was to have a specific "controller" object, which you'd have a copy of in every room and it'd record things like your current score, lives, and so on.
What's the recommended way of doing this in Godot? Should I have a scene that I bring everywhere which keeps track of this stuff? Wat do?
#gamedev update: I can now design a dungeon within a .txt file, and my parser will choose appropriate rooms and populate the grid to match.
It auto-tiles and populates objects within each room (also .txt files).
Next: clean up bad doors; link rooms together automatically!
