Just completed, and hearkening back to early Roman jewelry using semi-precious stones like amethyst and rock crystal. Here, I've used transparent very pale blue and light purple Murano glass to make the beads, adding colored mica powders while white hot for shimmer, resembling iridescence. Something new in my Ko-fi store: This necklace is 20 inches long. I used transparent red, transparent topaz, and various shades of opaque red and other warm colors of Murano glass, all with added trailing. The focal bead is red and yellow, with gold mica powder, all encased in clear. We named this architectural lariat necklace Sentāresu (センターレス). That's the katakana transliteration of the English word “centerless.” Named for its visual echo of the Big O—the world’s first hubless Ferris wheel, located in Tokyo Dome City.

In this lighting, the Samsung Galaxy did not want to allow the person, necklace, and Ferris wheel to be in focus all at once. But we do what we can (shrug emoji). And if you look closely at some of our previous posts, you'll see the similarity between this design and the Big O Ferris wheel. 🎡 🎠 🎢

Our Large Odin Stone Pendant Necklace in Recycled Sterling Silver. Beautifully textured & varied on each side, a lovely tactile piece.

Naturally formed holey stones go by many names: hag stones, Odin stones, or fairy stones.

This was made by hand in our home studio in Kirkwall, Orkney, inspired by the wild, ancient Orkney landscape with its unique blend of Scottish and Norse culture & history.

We used to specialize in bold chunky jewelry in non-precious materials like nylon and steel. But when the production costs from our suppliers rose and the quality and value didn't, we decided to discontinue those materials and focus exclusively on heirloom quality metals like sterling silver. Sadly, this meant designing smaller items for a while. But we missed the big "F-OFF" statement pieces we used to make so much that we finally figured out how to create them again, this time in premium metals. Our 2.0 versions are a bit more versatile: unisex and uni-size. Because the pieces will likely outlive you, you should be able to pass them on to whomever you like.
