this is welcoming news. even though having its own assembled terminals doesn't resolve the issue of relying on others' satellites for Internet connection, at least some part of the supply chain can be less dependant

But it turns out that #Musk is sabotaging his companies enough to ruin any advantage they might have had. I never thought that #ProjectKuiper or #OneWeb had a chance, but if Kuiper is even some what competitive and Eutelsat OneWeb figures out how to be competitive, then they could take a good chunk of business away from Starlink.

People and governments are losing confidence in Starlink, the EU's #IRIS2 project aims to deliver an EU sovereign satellite platform in the next ~6 years. Which is far away in tech world, but not long in infrastructure terms.

Due to the uncertainty and erratic behavior of the #trump administration, #European stocks in the space industry such as Eutelsat are skyrocketing by up to 500%.

There seems to be a consensus among European nations that no #US service can be trusted anymore, including #Starlink. The French #Eutelsat has merged with the British #OneWeb and despite not having the same numbers in satellites as Starlink in orbit, offers already services to the #Ukrainian military.

#Europe already is working on their own system, called #IRIS2. Application focus apparently already broadened from government/corporate use to B2C.
