That would be bad. I must admit I rarely use #nordvpn these days.

It didn't do that last time I tried a few years ago.

That's worth noting.

I can categorically confirm that #MullvadVPN, #protonvpn and #privateinternetaccess don't leak anything.

And I can also confirm #ivpn didn't last time I used it a month or so ago.

To be honest, I'd only really trust the services that don't collect any info, like IVPN and Mullvad.

I'd make a special case for #pia, because they pay for multiple independent audits and because their #nologs policy has been tested in court.

There are only three that have actually been tested by a court order that we know of.

An interesting anomaly is #airvpn. Despite being based in an 'eyes' country there's no indication they've ever been raided.

I have some trust for Air, because of who they are and because of their record in the #community.

I have never used NordVPN. I have never visited their website. So why on earth is @Vivaldi showing me ads in the search bar?! Not cool!

At least have the damn courage to label it as ads instead of gaslighting me with this “direct match” bullshit.

You installed their extension into my browser without my consent or even acknowledgement. Then this. What comes tomorrow? Why can’t we have a browser that does not utterly suck, is it really too much to ask?

@protonprivacy is looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Linux Desktop). Right now today, the Mozilla VPN frontend for Linux is better. The code is available and easily buildable on Linux but there are very strong concerns around privacy and some of those vpn routes including Mozilla as an organization being ripe for capture, if that isn't already the case. This looks like it would be a fun gig but probably not best for a US based citizen/programmer in our current environment. Sharing because this one is important (i use Proton and you should too, especially if you're in the US), I would be more than happy to cosign for anyone of my peers in the EU, Caribbean here.

Hey @Vivaldi, I have VPN disabled in the Settings, but I get a notification from Proton VPN when I launch Vivaldi:

Unable to reach the server, please try to reconnect, or to log out and log in again if the problem persists

If it's disabled, it shouldn't be running at all.

Je parlais plus tôt de l'intégration de #ProtonVPN dans le navigateur #Vivaldi. Petit bémol sur cette nouvelle fonctionnalité : l'utilisateur a droit à la version gratuite de base. Donc, une connexion automatique au hasard dans l'un des 5 pays seulement offerts.

Tu es au Canada et la connexion automatique se fait par exemple avec un serveur aux Pays-Bas. C'est pas le top !

Aussi bien vous prendre un abonnement payant au service, ou un autre comme #NordVPN que j'utilise depuis 2 ans.

Annonce du navigateur Vivaldi suite à une mise à jour. Proton VPN maintenant intégré au navigateur.
