Dear #RaspberryPi #LXDE #Linux friends,

Anyone have issues with the Ibus IME (language selector) panel widget on bookworm being unwell in #LXPanel? It looks like it gets a few dozen instantiations whenever it boots on my 4B. So if I click or tap the widget to call the drop menu, I must spend between 30 seconds and several minutes (haha :( ) selecting the menu item which will make the drop down menu finally go away. That is, a click will show dozens of stacked widget drop downs. And who knows which state that will set my Ibus IME when done.

I shall try… having cron kill and reinstantiate Ibus widget, but it’s pretty finicky about such meddling as such language input gewgaws are wont to be. This is a clean install and seems to be an issue with bookworm, as it is my second go with both installs of bookworm having the issue.

Thanks.

:fatpikachu:

Had a bit of a frightening moment this morning: our #RaspberryPi wouldn't boot. That's annoying because it runs our Pi-Hole. It wouldn't have been so bad if I weren't laden down with a stinking cold and due to cook Easter Sunday lunch as well.

It eventually turned out that the cheap no-name #USB #DiskCaddy had failed in a way that stopped the Pi from booting. I didn't know that was possible. I replaced the disk caddy and now all is well.

Insights welcome!

I have to be honest and say that this sudden revelation I've just had about #SDR (software defined #radio) is a big deal to me. Even though I'm a ham (although my license is actually expired and I need to fix that), I never bothered before with SDR, since I owned actual all-band transceivers, but the advent of the #RaspberryPi and my #travel network rig means I now have a perfect platform for a portable/travel SDR receiver, for only $50 more.

I don't know why this didn't occur to me before, but I was just thinking that it might be pretty cool to add a software defined #radio receiver #SDR to my travel #RaspberryPi 4B.

I'm also seriously considering replacing the #powerbank on my #travel WiFi network board with two smaller powerbanks for better flexibility and more battery life. I cannot do passthrough power with the one bank, because I have to use the input port for output.

(display "Hello World") sarebbe stato troppo effettivamente🤣🤣🤣
