"Star Trekkin'" is a song by British #noveltyBand #theFirm. It parodies the first television series of #StarTrek and prominently features comical voice caricatures of #theOriginal Trek characters, provided by members of the band, a studio technician, and the wife of one of the songwriters. One of the song's phrases, "It's life, Jim, but not as we know it", actually originated with "Star Trekkin'" but has been subsequently misattributed to the TV series.

The Firm pull out all the stops for "Arthur Daley ('e's alright)", they dress the set like a nightclub, costumes are sharp suits, and they ignore the women smoking at the next table.
It's based on a character from "Minder", a popular show at the time.
The Firm - whose big hits all came from the telly - were John O'Connor (session musician and studio owner) and Grahame Lister (guitar), plus session musos. Vocals from Tony Thorpe, formerly with the Rubettes.

Got it because I'm a fan of #TheFirm (both book & movie). An entertaining read, full of suspense, though it felt more like a spy #thriller rather than a legal thriller, to be honest.
The biggest problem: it didn't need to be a sequel to The Firm. Mitch did very little, and it barely used his considerable cunning.
