Decided to open the #RandomBookClub for any day of the week:

Read any book you like, any time. Fiction or nonfiction, all genres are welcome. On any day of the week, talk about the current book(s) you are reading, using the hashtag. What do you like about it. What not? Do you have a nice quote, or anything else to share about it?

Feel free to use the hashtag, follow it and join the fun. Please boost this. Thanks. 🙏

Today is #IndieBookDay
(More about this: indiebookday.de/english/ )

If you are looking for #SapphicRomance, here is a recommendation: Ylva Publishing publishes lesbian books in a variety of genres, for instance contemporary, historical, SFF, mysteries and more.

IndiebookdayMarch 22nd, 2025 is Indiebookday! You love beautiful and well made books? On Indiebookday you can share this love with everyone! It's quite simple:

#bookrecommendation wanted
I am looking for #gothic (horror) novels by contemporary authors. I don't care if the setting is historical (for instance Regency, Victorian or Edwardian) or contemporary.
I am NOT looking for generic horror, but books with a gothic horror feeling.
I already have some books on my wish list, but I'd love to get more recommendations.
Bonus points if the story has queerness.
If you have published such a book yourself, tell me about it.😀

Ok, I actually read Gothikana because even though I‘ve only heard mixed things about it I am still a sucker for dark academia / gothic settings. And I thought that maybe its not as bad as some reviews say. Also… it has a nice cover. But holy plothole-heaven. This book is really amazing in not explaning many things happening and some characters react in ways that are just off. The romance part for me sometimes felt kinda predator-ish, but maybe something got lost in translation, as I was reading the german version. But still…

Typischer Ablauf wenn ich aktuell vor dem Fantasy-Regal stehe:

1. Buch bekommt meine Aufmerksamkeit
2. Tom schaut Klappentext an

Give away:
I did an AU #fanfiction, later left the fandom for reasons and turned the fanfiction into original fiction, because the story had the potential for this.

It’s a short novella called „A Fundraiser Concert With The Demonettes“ and it is a wholesome queer romance. Both characters are on the #acespectrum and one of them is #agender.

You can download it here for free as an e-book (epub or PDF):

If you are interested in book trends, this video may be interesting, in which Alyssa Matesic analyzes the current interests of literature agents:
"Top Trending Book Genres for 2025"

What came as a surprise to me:
After the trend of Romantasy, Fantasy and Romance weren't in the top spots on the list anymore, instead YA and LGBTIAQ* fiction.
Yeah for queer fiction!🏳️‍🌈

Just finished. It’s a book of many things and none of them: about Palestine, about theatre, about resistance, resilience, about family and about a very very annoying self-centred woman. It started slow, but in the end I found myself I couldn’t stop reading. Like Hamlet’s father, this book will keep haunting me, in any future art or activism. And maybe, that was the whole point of the book: to enter your art, like a ghost.
