I just watched all the "making of" features of Hellboy 2, and I am obsessed with all of the beautiful creatures and effects.

I'm not saying I actually want this to happen (why not make new things?), but my God, del Toro could *totally* do a live action Spirited Away, and it would be *gorgeous*. The Troll Market scene in Hellboy proves it. I would love to see del Toro's take on the creatures from Spirited Away.

Tonight's post-midnight watch. Can't believe how long it's been since I last watched Spirited Away. There's really something uniquely impactful about Studio Ghibli films.

Un dels exemples del tema que vaig comentar fa uns dies sobre contingut de qualitat a les xarxes podria ser la Ter, que potser alguns coneixereu. És una arquitecta, de Madrid crec, que fa uns quants anys que puja vídeos on igual t'explica el com i el perquè de la relació de les corves catenàries amb els ponts, com t'explica perquè a les construccions antigues hi calien contraforts i altres elements de reforç afegits per a fer-los estructuralment fiables. I tot això ho fa amb un discurs modern i desvergonyit, però sense perdre gota de rigorositat. Ho fa francament amè i sempre amb un punt de vista propi diferent.

Mireu l'últim que l'hi he vist, on dissecciona la casa de banys dels déus/esperits d'"El viatge de Chihiro", i et quedes al·lucinant no només amb la feinada de deduïr l'estructura de l'edifici a força d'anar observant moviments dels personatges, si no les deduccions que se'n pot treure un cop s'analitza tot plegat. Absolutament brillant.

Tuli tuossa eilen (perjantaina 27. päivä) katsottua Studio Ghiblin klassikkoelokuva Henkien Kätkemä. Edellisestä katsomiskerrasta onkin jo aikaa vierähtänyt ja onhan tuo maaginen elokuva kerta toisensa jälkeen. Ei mikään suosikkini, mutta pidän siitä kovin.

Itsumo nandodemo kun alkaa soida, kylmät väreet selässä on taattu.

Viimeaikaiset Ghibli-katselut ovat sisältäneet muutoksen, sillä aiemmin olen katsonut elokuvan aina alkuperäisellä ääniraidalla. Nykyään kun nämä elokuvat sisältävät myös suomenkielisen dubbauksen, haluan katsoa ne sillä lähinnä vertauksen vuoksi nähdäkseni, miten ne on toteutettu. Nytkin kuulosti oikein hyvältä.

Nyt varmaan kuvan myötä ihmettelette, että miksi ihmeessä kolme eri versiota Henkien Kätkemästä hyllyssä? Vanhin näistä on VHS-julkaisu, jonka olen saanut v. 2003 joululahjaksi. DVD-painokset on ostettu myöhemmin hyllyyn juurikin esim. suomidubbauksen takia.

This segment is annoyingly hard. While the other parts are more like #Mononoke, this is more like #SpiritedAway. In the end, it is very #Miyazaki-esque.
